purely tongue-in-cheek, but it Looks like something you would use rather to wipe out Klingons than to send them through space. Or maybe it is the perfect design for sending klingons on their way...
Ok I'm mentally five years old here...I think it's an awesome idea but I can't get past the visual inference of a plumber's helper.

And I would LOVE to get the backstory on this ship! Congratulations again, Atolm! Pop the champagne bottles for this!

Thanks. I've modeled ships from scratch to try as a mock-up before...But this one is by far my largest. lol If interested, you can see some more here: www.deviantart.com/atolmazel/gallery/70940610/star-trek-physical-modelsAnd I would LOVE to get the backstory on this ship! Congratulations again, Atolm! Pop the champagne bottles for this! I do not have a class name for this ship. I just designate her as the Klingon Space-folding prototype. I envision her as the Klingon's answer to starfleet's "Great Experiment" or vice versa... (think of arms race between the Soviet MiG-25 Foxbat and the American McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle as an analogy). Anyway, this ship was designed to not use warp, but rather manipulate gravity to move through normal space and to generate enough power to fold space for near instantaneous travel to greater distances (i.e. anywhere in the galaxy/universe). In a lot of ways this was probably created off of the Romulan artificial singularity drive, but was much more ambitious an undertaking. Unfortunately, due to the devastating explosion of Praxis that crippled the Klingon Empire, this ship was mothballed. Only one ship was "constructed" (89% of the ship was actually built before relegated to a Klingon starship graveyard). Hope that helps?

And it would fit in with a Klingon characteristic of wanting bigger and better ships. Look what they did with the Romulan's Bird of Prey scouts they got. They copied them, then made both a frigate and heavy cruiser class out of them. So why wouldn't they want to top the Romulans regarding a warp-drive substitute? "Par for the course", to use a golfing analogy.

Atolm, by the way, my complements to you on making your model of the Two-Headed Beast heavy cruiser. I saw it a little while ago on your DeviantArt site. It is magnificent! And yes, I'll admit it, I'd love to see the backstory on that one.
I'm thinking it would be either another shipbuilding experiment by one of the Imperial Houses or something made-up to not waste already built parts. In either case, their neighbors would be scratching their heads at the first sight of it. Maybe it would fit the role of a command cruiser in a post-Praxis period for their space navy. Just thinking aloud here, nothing more. What do you think?

I do not have a back story for the beast...but it was meant to be a tie-in to some Disco Klinks and TOS ships...so I look at her as a house's command ship of some sort. But feel free to write-up anything for her

Atolm, I noticed a few things relating to the Two-Headed Beast. First, it looks like the main hull is composed of two D-7 rear hulls welded together. Is it? Second, because of this, it looks like it has FOUR impulse engines for power. Do they? Third, by contrast, I don't see ANY warp engines at all. Where are they? Fourth, the under-section looks like it is designed for housing a lot of shuttlecrafts. Is it? Fifth, the "lumps" on the wingtips looks like they'd house heavy disruptors. Do they? My intuition at first sight is that some minor House on the Kephan border got news about the KUSN's disastrous Swordfish-class destroyer. So their designers and builders think: "We can beat the Insane Ones at their own game and be covered in glory. Plus we can save money at the same time!" On the other hand, every other House would mock them behind their backs and laugh them to scorn. The info you provide will help in making a good backstory for the ship or ship class. Anybody else, please join in with my thanks.

Okay, Real World reason of the hull: the ship was constructed using 2 D7 kits with so custom made scratch built parts, so yes the hull is 2 D7 hulls merged in a way to be a TOS emulation of the DISCO BoP Silhouette. So as story wise I was thinking of saying that the ship was created in honour of the fallen twin sons of a house lord. The ship possesses 4 heavy distruptors on a ball turret (2 on the dorsal wings, one above the shuttlebay, and one on the ventral hull brace on the belly). She also has 4 original distruptors on the "heads" of the ship and the 2 photon torpedo launchers. The ship has 2 impulse assemblies, but with 4 exhausts. The warp nacelles are integrated into the wings. The shuttle bay is much larger than the standard D7...around 2.5 times the size of the standard D7 and extra room for shuttle/fighter housing storage. Here are some quick diagrams:

Put me down as another fan of the twin boom D-7! Cool idea and even better that you made a physical build. When did you build it? You mentioned it being from kits so I'm guessing it predates the modern trend of home 3d printing.

You mentioned it being from kits so I'm guessing it predates the modern trend of home 3d printing. Thanks. This ship was actually made almost exactly 1 month ago. I cannot 3d print my ships (no 3d printer in my possession). It was made using two d7 kits from the old AMT TOS 3 piece starship set (Enterprise, D7, and Bird of Prey) that a friend of mine had no use for and gave to me. I then constructed a brace-hull-structure out of styrene that was used to fortify the inverted "V" structure of the two hulls being attached wing to wing at the leading edges. I then added a triangle-shaped piece of styrene to the gap at the top of the new combined hull. Now the new hull has essentially an "A"-frame when viewed directly from the front and the back. Then I just added the booms and "heads" to the new hull, and some bits and boobs here and there. Oh, I also used a larger scale D7 model shuttle-bay, as I needed a larger shuttlebay...lol. Hope that helps Oh, and if anyone wants to donate model parts/kits (scifi or aircraft) lay it on me lol

I think I had the same ship set back in the day. It's a great starting point. Thinking about your twin boom design has inspired me to work on my own using different base models (albeit the digital versions).

When looking at these pics, this word combo came to my mind -- "wing-warp". The builders of this craft would push this concept as making warp engines less of a potential target to enemy fire. So the Two-Headed Beast would be sold as a "proof of concept" test bed. Further, as mentioned or hinted earlier, this would give very damaged D-7s a new life as part of a new ship class. And like they do with the Romulans, they'd beat the Kephans at their own game making "crazy" and powerful ships.
Now this ship needs stats, especially regarding both the warp engines and heavy disruptors.
As for the backstory, your idea of the class honoring the minor house lord's fallen twin sons looks good. Maybe make one of his sons the inventor of the "wing-warp" concept. And the other son be the engine designer backing up the concept. Have some rival house assassinate them for the usual reasons each Imperial House fights each other.
Would this work in your opinion? Please let me know and thank you in advance.

This was done for a good friend StarfleetShipyards (over at DA). He suggested I do something in the TAS Klingon Uniform style for the Klingon Dahar Masters, and also in hair styles that reflected by Worf's hair styles throughout his tenure in Trek. Enjoy: Koloth, Kor and Kang Direct link: i.postimg.cc/2yzhstVz/Klingon-Dahar-Master-Koloth-Kor-and-Kang-00.jpg
