So is the part where the name and hull number is a rotating section? No. The ship simulates gravity by constantly acellerating, typically at 1 G. This version of warp drive would make a warp "jump" to the target system, then the ship inverts and decelerates, again typically at 1 G. During warp maneuvers and in orbit, the ship would be in micro-gravity (sorry everyone, no miniskirts here).

Don't get used to it. This was an "I'm bored and it'll kill 20 minutes" deal... This is the final version

Unusual proportions on the Robert April CLass. I like it, kind of unexpected to see the saucer larger for that era. Trying to suggest early TNG designs?

There is a definite design lineage between eras and I was indeed trying to evoke that development.

I call this the "Constitution (III)" class. Not a refit of existing Constitution-s or Enterprise-s, but a successor design from the 2330s. Parts Credit to Captshade and Nichodo.

Because DeviantART doesn't allow hotlinking.

It's a pity that between DeviantART and now Photobucket not having free hotlinking, there's a lot missing from this thread.
