Just a quick update. I've had to rewrite a huge chunk of this because it didn't turn out how I wanted. That sucks. But waiting patiently to see what new version you come up with.

I haven't forgotten about this. I fully expect an artless version in PDF to be ready by the end of the month. When it's ready, I'll figure out how to post the file somewhere for download.

Do you know where to host files some people can download them for free? The file will be in pdf format. Dammit, didn't see this post you made, over a year ago! Sorry about that. Hope you've still been working on your ideas? Others might pop in with suggestions for your PDF storage, but I keep hearing about Dropbox. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I'm sure I've downloaded something somewhere from there. It might have been either FASA Trek related, or something from D&D? You could also store it in the Files section of the FASAStarTrekUniverseE-group on Groups.io. As it's a space sector, and you might include some ship designs, I don't think they would mind, a lot of people here are either on and use the Group, even if only as a information resource. Here's the link to the register/login page... groups.io/...once you've created an account, send an join request to the Group, as well as Morena, Mustaka and FleetZed15 Groups as well. It might take a few days for some replies, but you shouldn't have to wait too long. Again, REALLY sorry I didn't reply to this. Me bad.

Thanks for those suggestions, rarcher. Although I thought Google Drive was for personal use. So you can use it to share files via a forum?

Thanks for those suggestions, rarcher. Although I thought Google Drive was for personal use. So you can use it to share files via a forum? Yep you can! The normal standard google drive has about I think 15gbs of storage for your email and file hosting needs. All you do is upload and then 'share' it getting a link for use format on forums

I'm so sorry about this getting pushed to the far back burner. Real life got in the way big time.
I'm giving myself a deadline of May 1 for my unveiling date. It will be in PDF form. I'll need to figure out how to host it so y'all can read it and it may be a bit lacking in art, but it will be readable and that's the important thing, right?

Keep up with your efforts. I'm sure they'll be well rewarded! Excelsior!
And please forgive me for tooting my own horn, but the next addition of the Armada drama has been posted. I hope you like!

Real life, especially the last two years, has been more difficult than normal. Glad to hear from you again, and looking forward to seeing what new information you have come up with about the Zeta Nu sector and its inhabitants.

I've not forgotten about this project. As a matter of fact, not only is the text finished, but my feeble attempts at art are done as well. All that needs to be done now is the layout, turning it into a PDF, and then putting it online. A friend of mine is doing the layout and publishing stuff (and making it look far better than I ever could), but his time is limited and he'll get it back to me when he can.
But as a reward for your ongoing patience, here's a sidebar from the finished project.
The S'toll Expedition
Tasked with exploring the galactic "east" by the nascent Federation, on stardate 0/9203.10 the noted Vulcan explorer S'toll left Pollax with three ships. One of the first projects organized under the Federation's "Look Outward Initiative" the expedition was charged with finding suitable worlds for habitation, contacting new races, and identifying unknown threats and was expected to last three years.
The expedition rendezvoused with two additional ships attached to it at Port Royal (now Starbase 3). The flotilla consisted of a light cruiser (USS Armstrong City), two destroyers (USS Badb, USS Winfield Scott), a dedicated scout fitted with additional science capabilities (USS John Cabot), and a tender (USS Spike) and approximately 900 personnel, both Starfleet and civilians. One crewmember who wrote home stated that "every cubic centimeter is packed with supplies or spare parts or food" for the journey ahead.
The last contact with the expedition was on stardate 9204.01 when an Orion free trader crossed paths with the flotilla at System Q-116 halfway between Port Royal and Argus. Because subspace communications were not capable of reaching ships that far out and there was no real flight plan made (indeed, the general idea was for S'toll to simply go where he thought best), it was not until the anticipated return date had passed that anyone had any idea that the expedition was lost. Starfleet made an attempt to track the expedition but with few clues to follow and no idea where the flotilla had gone, the attempts were doomed to failure from the outset. Five Starfleet ships had simply vanished.
It was not until stardate 2/1609.03 that Starfleet and the Federation learned anything more of the ill-fated S'toll Expedition. An unmanned probe charting the L-334 system, shortly to be home to the Oso Blanco colony, found one of the warp nacelles from USS John Cabot in orbit of a gas giant. Analysis of the artifact made clear that the warp nacelle had not been in orbit for more than three years. How the part made it to the Zeta Nu sector, in the complete opposite direction from where the ship was assumed lost, and where it had been for over a century, not to mention three years prior, have baffled scientists and Starfleet.
