Whats that blue 'window' like piece at the front on the top of the saucer?

It's a shuttle bay.

Looking good, Joshua! Although the Brenton is one of the more 'unusual' FASA designs (alright, it's downright ugly), I still have a hankering for a few minis for them. I've seen a couple made by players on a few blogs over the years, but never seen them on eBay. I want a couple, because the FASA stats aren't bad (especially the Mk.V like Brad says). Wish we had the writeup someone did on the old forum that gave an unusual reason for the widened primary hull in in-universe terms. Mark

I don't mind the Brenton's form and I've never thought her as off the wall as some of the other designs that are out there, at least she tries something a little different. In the Brenton's favour, she doesn't do the ridiculous dish-on-a-stick, she doesn't do the 3+ nacelle thing, nor is she simply a rearrangement of all the Connie's parts with bolt-ons. If I limit myself to the FASA manuals, I think the Keith class is an easy contender for ugliest Federation design award (although almost everything in the TNG manuals trounce even her into being almost pretty).

Do you guys like the Brenton better as it is above (which is more true to the images in the FSRM) or like this pic below? In the images above the bottom section of the bridge module is widened along with the split saucer. In the new image the bridge module is a standard bridge module. I'm leaning toward the second image with the standard bridge module.

Yes that would give it a little more continuity with the TMP era great work by the way

I think the altered version is the better option too.

Yep, standard bridge module/deck 2 and 3 looks better and like Bernard says, matches the other vessels in that timeframe.

They are both very nice, Fisher. Well done. I know that sounds "safe." Either one could easily be used. The top one is my favorite because it is indeed closer to the original FASA design. Having said that, if the artists at FASA had the tools you are using now, how do we know they wouldn't have gone for what you have done with the classic bridge module?

I too like both but the more usual bridge module for TMP does look sweet as well TBH I find these renders make the Brenton more 'bearable' in its appearance LOL as FASA made it

Great work! I like your version of the standard bridge but think it looks a little bare around the saucer. It might look less sparse if the standard lines are added showing off deck plating, or maybe adding extra windows around the end rims of the oval the bridge is sitting on suggesting a larger shuttle bay. Again, Great job!

I have always liked this class, even though it is probably one of the ugliest things in space. When you look at her, she is a good attempt at making a modern ship using as many mature defense and engineering systems mixed with modern weapons as you can.
she is a fairly competent cruiser, and I would have to say in her later configerations she is as nearly good as an early Reliant class ship. This puts her on par with a late Constitution class vessel. When the class first went to space it really had one major problem. It's torpedo was well rather weak for a cruiser, but this has been corrected in the later two configeratoins of the ship. Fortunately for the fleet most of those Mk. I ships have been put out of service.
I do enjoy fighting her....

On the forth picture there what are those little plating triangular like pieces supposed to be?
