/\ and some ships have their impulse venting directly into the collectors! Maybe it's recycling waste...just off hand I think those are for collecting interstellar hydrogen.
Macross, I like the over all look of the d-18, too. The hull actually looks like a 'reversed' and 'diet' version of the D-7 hull (just point a command boom out the back and you'll see what I mean).
Also nice touch on the D-18's Photon Torp tube, I haven't seen it like that before but I bet it will get popular for other small ship designs.

Hmm ya know i was just thinking how one might 'fix' the Andor cruiser. What if the nacelles were engrained and the bussard collectors peeked out the front main body of the hull? it'd look weird sure but it'd be a way to fix it to the rodenberry rules no?

Quite so, rabid. I wonder if Klingon nacelles need to collect hydrogen in the same manner as their Starfleet equivalents? I think on the L13 I'll add a collector to the front of the 'arms' to feed the nacelles.
Actually... maybe I already have... the 'grilles' I added there were a tip of the hat to those on the D7's hull. Maybe those are the collectors?
Interesting thought about the Andor, rarcher. That's a design which has always left me puzzled. The secondary hull doesn't seem to serve any purpose. With all the extra room afforded by the additions to the aft of the primary hull, why is it there, except to provide a mounting for the deflector dish?
If 'Drew at Studio Bergstrom decides to expand this line into the Motion Picture era, I'll certainly include a rethink of the Andor.
L13's nearly finished. Might have new pics tonight!
