The only way to do such a project would be to select a ship, propose some changes, and let it be thrashed out. It may be that simple - yes. We would discuss the process first (and how far we would like to go) before we dig into the nitty gritty. Don't forget the few across the pond or even further afield? Both of them? Good point, there may be a half dozen or so over there who still care. We've have to find as many people as possible to get a good range of opinions on any changes... In some ways, it almost sounds like we'd have to just "start from scratch" and build a new game system based off the STSTCS. I wouldn't want to go that far - at least with this project. If the scope is too big, we may never see a final resolution. For the most part, I am pretty happy with the mechanics of the game. Does it reflect what see on the big and small screens? No, it does not. However, it is a streamlined, fast and fun game to play. Swede did bring up an excellent point regarding the SRMS and the Construction Manual: All have their errors and inconsistencies. Do we want to try to fix everything, or let one be the "canon source" for the others? If we accept the Construction Manual as it is, it would greatly simplify this project - so I am kinda leaning in that direction to begin with. That is my vote anyway.
