So being 2016, and seeing the trailer of the next Trek flic had me stewing a bit...I am sure the will or will not destroy the ship, but it is irrelevant to this post...as I am speculating on a Refit for her on my own. Hope you guys like her, enjoy: Actual size if re-sized: i65.tinypic.com/ap8os4.jpg

This is really cool and I am still impressed by your halo ship design very ground breaking designs.

Sadly this design does nothing for me. It seems to have doubled down on a lot of the things about the Abramsprise that I hate.

Not a fan of the JJTrek Enterprise but, your's is far better than anything they could come up with... Ironically, the new Enterprise shares many details and proportions on vessels I had designed long before her debut, but that's what I liked about her. I just wanted to build from there. Atolm, you get a standing ovation from me on this! Fantastic doesn't even begin to describe this! This is really cool and I am still impressed by your halo ship design very ground breaking designs. Thank you sir that one I do not like looks like a bug to me I don't see an insect with her, but then again I designed her Sadly this design does nothing for me. It seems to have doubled down on a lot of the things about the Abramsprise that I hate. Sorry bro, but I designed her to further develop her into a refit, as I would envision her. I do plan on exploring this refit even further...but you'll probably not like that as well, which is totally cool, and I'm cool with that

Yeah, It's just too much like the JJprise. The secondary hull is too far forward. I don't care for the tapered nacelle look. The primary hull does not match the secondary hull and nacelles. This ship is better on some ways, and worse in others. Stylistically it sems to have more unity. But that is prolly because you are a better designer than that hack who made that other piece of shit back in '09. On the other hand, you seem to have pushed the secondary hull even further forward, and the neck looks too narrow front to back. I actually kinda like the new nacelles, but they still suffer from the taper issue. I'm not sure how I feel about the pylons. They are very Atolm. Too me they feel a little out of place on this ship. If you are planning on refining it those are my two cents. Keep stuff coming tho. This is just my opinion. Keep up the good work.

Yeah Thanks Here is a Quote from my reply for the saucer-hull placement over at Trek BBS, most of it applies here and you (and others) may find it interesting: "In answer to some of the comment's to the saucer placement; I have always tried something new with my ships, but ironically I didn't with this one...Rather, I opted to use most of my tried concepts and merged them to fill my thoughts on a refit for the Enterprise. That saucer placement is one that I loved to use here and there, as it is structurally more sound, than it's normal placement, and more unique (at least in other fan and canon designs). The Enterprise in the new Films is perhaps the closest I have ever seen to something that I would have designed. Almost all the details used on her, I had explored in one way or another, years prior... I'm a conceptualist, it's what I do...lol. So When I saw the Ent, I was like, "Wow, nice! Something new and daring. Something I would have done." To me this refit is a first in many in exploration for me into a refit of the new Enterprise. The Hardest thing to define with the New Ent is a look for a refit...meaning, in the Original TOS Ent, she was ultra-smooth and practical piece of art. While the TMP reft made the ship into less smooth, but more industrial and detailed. Now the new Enterprise, merged TOS and TMP in such a way, that you would have to create something more advanced and unique, but not so much as to be TNG. It's why I am leaning towards Fish musculature in the ship's grid lines."

IMHO if you moved the saucer forward two vertical lines keeping the same level it is now by lengthening the dorsal spine slightly it would look a lot more balanced.

You seem to have been gone a long time, nice to see you're still out there!
I like this very much. I'd probably have been tempted to add a little more weight around the deflector, but your clean lines work really well. The pylons are interesting, I'd love to see how the lines sweep together from the hull to the nacelle - have you drawn out a forward elevation? Have you meshed her?

I am still on AIM...just my timing is very off. I do miss our conversations though As for the ship...I will be posting more of her as she develops, so check back every so often. Cheers mate!

Well, these updates do have the benefit of making me like the first picture better. I can't say I like the saucer that far back. It was bad enough before. To each their own I guess.

Admin Edit: You don't have to like everything everyone makes. I certainly don't. But please find a polite way to express your opinions. Why would you want to put the saucer that far back?? Why Samurai horn support pylons?
In the end, though, it's like JAFisher44 said; "to each their own I guess".
