I love this ship, I really do. She is a great combat vessel, as far as Federation destroyers go. She fills the same role as the Marklin would have filled during the Four Years War. That of a heavy destroyer. She is better armed then the Federation's destroyer mainstay, the Larson class. I would not want to run into a division of these things.
I think she is even a better balanced ship then the Baker class destroyers. We have to look at something here, Baker was designed first as a "research" cruiser and then was redrawn to address what was perceived as a lack of good destroyers. Baker actually has no more power to put on the grid then a Wilkerson...this leads to her not being able to balance her fighting abilities as well. Wilkerson was designed as a destroyer from the Keel up.
The other Federation destroyers of this time are well the Charger class which is a redress of the hull an escort and that ship trades speed for other qualities and the Tangent class destroyers with try to deliver more firepower but at the cost of defensive measures....
This leaves the Wilkerson as the best of the destroyers of the 2270's and 2280's...my opinion anyway
Now the Andorian designed destroyers are a mixed batch for Star Fleet...
Lenthal class ships for instance lack a torpedo...but they do have a good acurate phaser to fall back on. The Thuffr class on the other hand are balanced, but they rely on what some would call very mature technology in their systems: for instance the engines, weapons and shields all date back to the 2260's, but they are proven and reliable. The best things about these Andorian designs are that they can be built in large numbers if the need arises.

I think I like it better as a TOS design. Nice! Is the surface above/below the nacelle flat or curved?

Cool. I figured you'd try to match the TMP version but the shadows on the pic made me wonder. Will you be releasing it as usual?

I can see the TOS era ship drawn here, being done as a prototype to test the warp dynamics of the class and also look at the general characteristics of the hull layout.
