Lord have mercy! Good night Nelly!
Obvious prediction: this is going to split the world-wide Whovian Community in two. And the BBC is going to reap the whirlwind on this.
Sorry, let me correct myself. the BBC will reap a hurricane of criticism on this.
Head for the fallout shelters, everyone! Things are gonna git messy on this!

Be prepared for any criticism, and I mean any, of this to be labelled as sexist, misogynist and narrow minded.

unfortunately this reminded me of a Robert heinlein story where a gender swapping time traveler ended up as his/her own mother and father. Maybe that's why they decided to make her gay? I think it was titled "all you zombies". Don't ask, just read it.

I don't think it's written in stone that a male timelord must regenerate as a male. I watched this actress in Broadchurch and she was pretty good. I think she'll make a pretty good Doctor. If she gets good scripts, the fans will be (mostly) happy.

And there's Missy of course!

LOL!!!! No worries. I am WAY behind. My Wife is the Who-Fan. After Tennant left, the show just didn't hold me. Amy Pond almost held me, but not quite. More Donna Noble, and I would have watched. She was so fun.
I am curios to see Doctor 13's companion.

Be prepared for any criticism, and I mean any, of this to be labelled as sexist, misogynist and narrow minded. I'm sure you are right. That being said, I'm hard pressed to think of any objections that aren't sexist.

In this case I have to agree.
It's not like with female Thor or SJW marvel. long story short I don't understand the need to change the superficial external qualities of an established property or character. Why not instead of creating a new character designed from the ground up with the superficial qualities already in place? A character's race/sexual preference/favorite Italian food has nothing to do with why I like certain fictional heroes. I just want them to be interesting.
Take comics...the cool thing about Spider-Man was that anyone could identify with Peter Parker, he had a diverse fan base already. Miles morales is great but what's the point in making him Mexican-African American is they are just going to write him like Peter Parker?
That said the objection doesn't apply here. It fits into the history.

OK... I'll say it. She's the first Doctor I have wanted to see nekkid. I'm not proud of myself, but at least I'm honest.

I suspect some of the female fans wanted to see Chris or David with less on...

Chris all the way. Mrs. Ironnerd said she thinks David is probably all skinny and pasty under scarf... hairy too...

The robot dog K9 reminded me too much of robot Peepo from Jason of Star Command, although I think K9 was earlier.

Yeah she's actually pretty hot. When Tom Baker goes back in time, no one can blame him for shagging himself.
