Star Trek Discovery just has to be the worst Trek series. It's not bad as far as production value goes or even it's apparent hate of canon and established lore. I don't dislike the show because they completely ruined the Klingon aesthetic in a vain attempt to be 'different' as does everyone now days (let's not get into how if everyone tries to be different they're all still the same.) But what I truly hate it for is the one dimensional single motive characters. The only main character is Micheal, and she's thoroughly unlikable as a person. My favorite character is Tilly, who works as a rather like-able side kick. No other character in my personal opinion works for their intended role in the show.
Honestly I could go on for hours about why I hate Discovery's characters, but I'll just say Micheal Burnham is an egotistical and unlikable mary sue who doesn't really seem to have any sort of logical thought processes or motivation. Just a person who continually royally screws up over and over but gets saved at the end each time because she's the hot main lead.
Edit: As a side note Star Trek Discovery isn't a Star Trek show in any way except some aesthetic nods and by name. It can be an okay Sci-fi show but can only really be enjoyed if you think of it as it's own stand alone series rather than anything from or resembling Star Trek.

Side: Side note! I just realized for the first time the show's initials are STD and honestly? That fits pretty well.

Mary Sue!?!? Why, she's the most incredibly talented(less), intelligent(moron) important(i.e. useless) in all of StarFleet! I mean really now...

How sad is that? STD's main character is an example of Dunning-Kruger ► [ LINK] .
I stick to my theory that STD was created to end the Star Trek franchise.
