Yikes! Looks like an experimental craft. Or a test bed for something.

Yikes! Looks like an experimental craft. Or a test bed for something. Lol, that's cool (no pun intended). The whole point of this ship concept was to just re-orient the traditional tech level of TOS and seeing how that would change things (For example, by bringing the warp nacelles closer to the hull, the bussard collectors would have been seriously hampered...So I opted making a new structure that admittedly do appear as radiators as actual bussards would look like a radiator, or a huge sail in structure. Although in hindsight I could've designed something more "trekkian" in design...lol).

I was thinking that something like this would come from the mind of Alphonso Fernando De Santa Cruz, the guy behind the designs at K'nip Shun Scrapyards. He'd cook up things like those smaller impulse engines on the saucer's underside. And the auxiliary bridge on the secondary hull's underside. That would be from him.
The Federation's ship designers, on the other hand, seem to stick to the principle of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it.". So they wouldn't go THAT wild with the saucer design template. At least that is how I perceive it.

I am sorry bro, I have no idea who that is...I will have to do a search or something. I am with you on the Fed philosophy, but it is not Atolm's philosophy...lol j/k...lol It could be an alternate universe's approach to the starship design. Just saying...

De Santa Cruz is the guy designing Kephan starships for K'nip Shun Scrapyards. Just check the thread "The Kephan Unity and Her Star Navy" for what he's done so far for the Unity's cause. That is as far as starship design is concerned.
