I'm so frustrated. My install of Sketchup was recently corrupted and I was forced to reinstall it. When I did my rendering software was lost and it is no longer available for free. I'm looking into new software for rendering my ships. Until then I'll just have to settle for screen caps from Sketchup.

'Tis a shame we don't have the option to thumbs down a subject!

Well, that sucks. Hope you manage to find a solution.

That sucks. I had a similar experience when I changed laptops after my old one died and tried to redownload the program. IIRC the only free version was online only and not an actual program you could use independently. I don't know if that's changed. Blender seems to be the goto program for modelling that is both powerful and free but it's quite clunky. You can (from what I've heard) do pretty much anything in it as long as you figure out the 10-20 steps necessary to do what expensive programs do in a few clicks.

Well, it's not what it used to be, but I found a renderer I can use. The images aren't as clean but it's free and they are better than screen grabs.
