Here's another design by my buddy Brandon, this time on the V-2 the Unity got. Unlike the others this one has been reconfigured into more of a raider/blockade runner role for use by the outcasts in service of the Unity.
As with many designs in 2265, the KUSN received many outcast and old Romulan ships in their exchange. Like those other ships the V-2 was seen to be useful for repurposing by the outcasts into what was slowly being jokingly called the 'Green Squadron'. Since these ships were all crewed solely for the most part by outcasts themselves. With this desire in place the 'Green Squadron' looked to turn the V-2 like the others into a more usable design for their new home and safety. But for one which would take a more active offensive role in its mission. To this end this group of outcasts took the V-2 and worked alongside several Unity design firms and Orion shipping concerns to build what would later be called the KV-2 Heavy Raider/Blockade Runner concept. The ship like many others from the outcasts kept its core Romulan systems. But extensive overalling and updating allowed some of the systems to gain significant improvements. The first was the R-4M computer, newer programming methods and automations reduced the need on manual crew operations. Further the RWD-1 powerplant saw a major update in efficiency and maneuverability when coupled with the addition of two more copied RIB-2 impulse engines. This gave the formerly underpowered V-2 a much needed lift in power output compared to the original. With its new role as a hit and run ship, major overhaul of the weapon's mounting was performed. several of the RB-4 disruptors were repositioned for port/starboard and aft coverage fire. Conversely Orion engineers added in the lightly damaging and ranged, but still cheap and easy to maintain OP-3 torpedo launching system. Again focus was strongly given to port/starboard and aft firing coverage compared to more common designs. Next major internal adjustments were made. The passenger quarters were overhauled to allow a contingent of KUSN marines to be assigned for boarding actions if desired before the ship would depart a station. Further the shuttlebay was reduced in size and the cargo bays expanded for carrying more supplies on long mission or for use in any pirating mission raids on enemy targets. Finally major structural reinforcement and armor plating was layered across the ship increasing its survivability in combat. The final result was a marked improvement over the original V-2 cruiser and by the beginning of 2266 adjustments were complete and the classed KV-2 was rechristened the HHS Green Wonder. Again no plans are in place to create any variants of this design or build any more for now. The KV-2 is assigned primarily to stations near the Federation border, where it operates as a fast cargo/personnel runner when not assigned to raiding missions.
