Ok seriously last one for the night this time I really do promise! Given this was one of two traded ships to the Unity which had a plasma torp I was really eager to give this my own spin. I originally toyed with gutting the RPL and using it on another design idea I got but in the end I kept it. Instead that other idea is going to the V-43! Hope you all enjoy!
In 2265-66 as the Romulan outcast 'Green Squadron' was gaining traction another of the outcast ships arrived to the colony. This time in the form of an old R-2 Class VI Escort. It had the distinction of being one of only two ships armed with an operational romulan plasma torpedo. Some outcasts proposed selling it to the KUSN for other uses, but a larger faction chose to do do the opposite. Gathering their meager credits and supplies, they contracted the Knip Shipyards to overhaul the escort into a more usable 'Plasma Destroyer' platform for use by the 'Green Squadron'. The Shipyards looked over the escort as it was and soon settled on the idea of how to approach rebirthing it into its new form. First tackled like many Romulan designs was overhauling the ships R-4M computer core. This reduced greatly the needs of shipboard crew. In turn much of the ship's cargo and passenger spaces were gutted replaced with expanded power supply systems to feed the hungry plasma torpedo. Further three more RIB-1 impulse motors were fashioned and mounted in this open space along the hull. The Shipyard workers then refined the RIB system with Unity brand redundancy like that found on the Tango class frigate. This, coupled with refinements to the RWC-1 warp system allowed moderate increases to the ship's maneuverability. Offensively, the RB-2A disruptors were removed and replaced with the longer range and more accurate OD-3 system while retaining the original mounting points. The RPL-1 launch system at the heart of the ship was reinforced for further protection and to better draw power from the increased impulse drive system, but otherwise left alone. Next the RSD shield array was removed for use elsewhere by the Shipyards, and then replaced with the Unity designed variant of the KUOSM shield array which like some other Unity branded designs of Orion make was more robust and had built in redundancy in combat compared to the normal Orion brand shields. Lastly, structural reinforcement was added due to all the previous work given. The final refit was completed by mid 2266 and the KR-2 class VI plasma destroyer was christened as the HHS Plasmatic Pride. It was then assigned to the Home Fleet for further mission assignments. Like all 'Green Squadron' ships this destroyer is solely crewed by Romulan outcasts.
