Wow he did it again!!
This is awesome! You took my scribbling and made it into a lethal looking bad ass Klingon death machine! The only thing I regret is that I can only "like" it once. I was going for a dagger combined with bit of a snake motif with the head, you nailed those design elements and accentuated them perfectly.
Now it looks like something the Klingons would actually build. Your skill is amazing man, I'm floored that you are willing to apply your artistry to these (for me) old ships. My brother and I drew them back in the 80's!! I showed your redraw to him and he was just like "whoa"...
Also I found the stat sheet (which I'm sure is illegal) but posting it will let you know what I was going for.

Hey NP bro, I was thoroughly impressed with your originality of your render, and had to take a stab at it. I really loved how the "wings" could separate from that "T"-shape configuration and be rotated downward into a totally different flight configuration ala the TMP KBoP, but as variable warp positions. I envisioned that from the front view that the "T"-shape would become an "M"-or more accurately an inverted "W"-shaped inverted gull-wing (so cool!). Keep up with the original ideas bro...I enjoy them Oh and thanks for not being upset with me posting the ship here, I was not and am not trying to hi-jack the thread, but rather as before, with the Romulan vessel, just showing my appreciation of a design concept that I find unique, and fresh.

Hey my designs are your designs, i couldn't be happier with your drawings as it just makes me want to post more of them.
Next is a Romulan Destroyer we called the "Sparrowhawk"!

Next is the romulan "sparrowhawk", envisioned as an escort or scout type multi-role small starship. Think of the Oliver Hazard Perry class, this one isn't supplied for long tours, but as a "cheep" mass produced fleet adjunct or in a pack, they can be dangerous. (Love bird puns). The wings have sections to collapse into the main hull for warp travel, but to reduce the ship's energy signature when the "wings" are deployed they are highly absorptive and serve as eco-friendly solar sails while soaking up enemy EM broadcasts. This also makes them good at early detection. They can pick up an enterprise class 2 sectors away while the Sparrowhawk maintains cloaking or impulse speeds. Keeping with a bird theme of long range/"bird's eye view". Enjoy! (I think I'm getting better but my perspective on the wings is off...kind of high school oh well I tried).

Small enough to land? The retractable wings could double for... wings! Atmospheric flying type

There's more where that came from. Really seeing what you made of it got me into drawing again.

Whoa that is epic! Could we see the bow in view?
Can anyone else see this attacking Narendra III? Or is that way too early? I want to say this should have been the last glimpse of romulan technology in the Kirk era, gives plenty of time for the Enterprise C to encounter something different!

I'm getting a Centauri vibe from this one!

Good eye!
Indeed, the "sail" design repeats itself in a few ships I drew back then. The outermost vane is wide enough to hold all the inner ones, theh are smaller toward the hull and get wider on the way out. This so that they collapse into each other but don't fold.

I thought about this but I have way too many ships I am modeling and so rather than update a few dozen threads, I hope it's ok if I post them here. More "home builds" will follow. I finally have time off to make my Klingon fleet. The first problem is the 1/3125 to 1/3900 ish is just too big to ignore. When I get my tax return I will re-sort my scaling to 1/3900z in the meantime it's a good opportunity to rebuild my painting and modeling skills. Here there is a crazy eddies storm bird in 1/3125x a micro machine d-7 and mostly repainted bird of prey/k'vort for comparison sake. Next to that is Columbia Aerodrome's Klingon assault ship in 1/3900z a "deep cuts" kitinga (no paint yet) and crazy eddie's 1/3125 l-24 in white primer. Then Woomera's L-9 saber in 1/3900.then the pride of the fleet, strange as it is to say, the "fat man". The metal rod out of the boom section is for even primer paint. I'm doing that one up in deep flat gray like the micromachines d-7. The last is a "deep cuts" k'tinga painted in olive drab like a full scale model I did back in the day. I'm not a big spender, I just set a budget of 1 model a payday until I had what I wanted. Soon we can play a full scale battle!

just got the final lot of klingon ships from Woomera/studio bergstrom. I went ahead and dropped down to 1/3788 and the ships look amazing. new "Fat man" now that I got a handle on painting again. Also got the K-23, K-27, D-10 and L-6 frigate!
The fleet is coming along nicely and doesn't look to bad next to the micro machines fleet.

Update! More painting done. I sold off some transformers and other nerdy stuff on e-bay and went to Woomera Shipyards for 1/3788 scale Klingon ships. postimg.cc/gallery/5JQvT9XHere they all are primered up with grey acrylic primer. The other shots of finished models include some attack wing K'tingas I mounted on Woomera Shipyards stands and a micro machines L42 I painted up. The smaller Birds of Prey have subtle differences in paint apps but are from a hallmark miniatures set. They look more like d-32 size but I will play them as K-22. My Klingons are all 1/3788 including the new L-13 from Studio Bergstrom. I also have his l-9, k-27, l-6, K-23, D-18 and D-10. They are all picking up the acrylic well. The D-2 is the last model I have from my original 1980's collection. The other D2's (from the Star Trek legacy battleship model) are armadillo miniatures. He has great ships in this scale. www.shapeways.com/product/H4TFJDLWZ/klingon-d2-1-3788-attack-wing-x2?optionId=63178350&li=shops L-24 is from Crazy Eddie's in shapeways. (Looks pretty good next to an eaglemoss excelsior). The Romulan ships here are also Crazy eddies on shapeways, 1/3900 t-10 and 1/3788 scaled Stormbird, and an original white wind. The Gorn BH2 are from shiftdel and the MA12 are FASA minis I got second hand.
