What's life without some bullshit though? It's like plain oatmeal; good for you, but entirely too bland.

Now - it appears there's even more sillyness going on as Sean Hannity has now declared that the Coronavirus outbreak is probably a hoax! Of course it is, someone claimed it's the "deep state" (TM) tried to sow confusion and distrust to unseat Trump...obviously true. This is all getting entirely too silly:

I would have to say it's a pretty impressive hoax. Up there with the whole Round Earth and Moon Landing hoaxes Sean's a bone-headed whiner (I used to listen to him on the way home from work*, but stopped...he's just embarrassing at this point), but he's not a Flat Earther.
* I normally listen to NPR on the way in to work, just to be fair.

I don't have as much insider dirt on corona virus as I usually have on other medical developments. I haven't done any epidemiology in about 3 years now but I was on the foot and mouth outbreak.
When you have to go to the CDC and WHO to get info then you know broadcast news is full of it.
This is going to be bad for the most vulnerable among us, for sure. But watching TV makes me realize they are all charlatans. I'm done with TV news after this. They are making it worse for ratings.

They make a big deal out of the lack of test kits. It's not like there is a huge stockpile of "GENERIC VIRUS TEST KITS" somewhere. I figure they need to get some antibodies for, or DNA of the virus before they can start making test kits. And it's not like China was particularly quick in releasing the virus' info.
I do think it's weird that all the toilet paper is gone though. And bottled water. We just got dry foods (rice, pasta, ramen) in case they close Publix. It seems like everyone has been convinced that this is the apocalypse they have been hoping for, and that they need to prepare... but they have no idea what to prepare for.
In my lifetime a lot of things were supposed to kill me. Cold War Terrorists TWO Swine Flu outbreaks Mad Cow Bird Flu SARS MERS Ebola West Nile Salmonella (a couple times a year)
Countless "End-of-the-world" predictions.
The only one that bugs me is Easter Equine Encephalitis (we had horses when I was growing up. For some reason this one stuck with me). COVID-19 is just the next in a series. One of them will probably get me, but I don't think obsessing is the solution.
