Well, The Orville is back for season 2.
I watched S1:E1 last night and it was "pretty good". Seth seems to be a smart guy, but he has to realize that Orville is not Family Guy and has a slightly different fan base (I really don't like Family Guy, but do like The Orville). I'm looking forward to seeing how it unfolds.

I am in the unusual position of having to admit that I look forward to watching The Orville, whereas I haven't bothered with season two of Discovery. I got the feel that S2E1 was clearly an introduction to what's to come for season two. I too look forward to seeing how things unfold.

Discovery's second season started? I actually had not given that any thought...

STD Season 2 hasn't yet started. The last of the desperate Short Trek preview episodes just finished premiering a few days ago and Season 2 starts later this month (not sure of the date as I'm not personally waiting for it). I'll sign up for a free week of CBS All Access once it's all done and binge watch it for free before cancelling as I wasn't a fan of the first season.
As for the Orville, both the season premiere and the second episode were this week. I really enjoyed the second episode and wished that it had instead been the premiere instead of the exclusively character focused mediocre episode with no external drama or conflict that actually was. YMMV.

I liked both episodes, but it's time to move past the Moclans. I like learning about the species of the series, but let's feature a different one.

I actually liked the first episode more than the second. The "Life aboard ship" story was actually pretty good. The Pron Addiction episode was odd, but actually had some really good scenes.
Both episodes do feature Moclans, but they also have a lot of Isaac time in them. Being a jerk myself, I have grown to like Isaac.

OK. Caught up on Orville. Second season was pretty good. A little better than Season 1. Maybe not "MUST SEE", but Binge-worthy. I did not realize until a friend pointed it out that Dr. Finn was Sisko's GF in DS9 (Kasidy Yates). Then I had that "OOOOOhhhhhhh" moment. It needs an tO:STCS to really make it a great series

There have been several DS9/VOY actors on The Orville, LT Alara Kitan's father was Robert Picardo, her mother was Edris a Vorta, and in the recent episode Lasting Impression, Tim Russ, was a guest star.

Finally got around to finishing Season 02 of Pretty darn good. More watchable than VOY, ENT, or (trigger warning) STD. Also more enjoyable than Kelvin Trek.
Kind of cool to see actors from the older series.
***slight spoiler alert***
Not a fan of the Kaylons with the flying gun-heads, but I'll take it. Also wondering why the Kaylons miss so damned much...

Season THREE of Is on its way! We seriously need to talk to Seth and get info on the ships so we can create an ORVILLE ST:STSTC supplement. Space combat, with jokes!

I'm currently working on S2 of the Orville. It's the only authentic Trek since the end of Enterprise. I watched JJJerk's movies only because my wife wanted to go to them. I still watch TMP -ST6 and IGNORE JJJerk's Bad Reboot garbage. I utterly ignore alex turdsman's discrapery. Watched PEEcard once, realized it was more of woke/alex turdsman, and haven't watched it since. Utterly ignored lower dorks, and if turdsman is going to do Strange New Worlds, I'll ignore that as garbage, too. Spock being "learning disabled" and needing Mikey Spock the bestest evar - forget it. I heard S3 of discrapery was even worse than s1, if that was possible.
So the Orville is the only game in town! They really should give Strange New Worlds to Seth MacFarlane; he knows how to make Trek.

Stay amazing, Gorn.

The only real issue I have with The Orville right now is that the seem to have a hard time squeezing a 45 minute story into an 80 minute episode.

OK... I just watched the last episode in Season 3 ... it sucked.
It was about 80 minutes of alternating between cringe and yawning.
And Gordon sings... again... Someone please tell that man he's just not a talented singer.
