After the move to the new forum here, here's a thread to say hi if you're new here. Technically, even us frequent posters are new here, so we should repost! Plus, it will introduce us 'oldtimers' to the new folks. So I'll start! Hi, I'm Mark, and I'm a FASA STSTCS-aholic! Love the game, and even though I don't get to play much these days, the forum here is a great place to post new stuff about the game we love. As you know, I have a tendancy to favor the Orions, but I'm sure you don't hold that against me! The Romulan Ale is being served at the bar for a small fee!!! Mark

No takers then? That means you're all imposters, and nobody should listen to anyone else because we're all lying to each other! Especially me! (Brad, where's the evil emoticon when I need it!) Tee hee!

Ok, I am fairly new (for real) on these forums, only been hear about a year, found it after rediscovering all my FASA stuff in storage at my folks place after it had been boxed for the last cpl of decades.
Once I started reading it again, it made me shove all my SFB stuff into the box and start actively playing FASA Trek again.
Since then I discovered the STCS VASSAL module, and started a new online STCS gaming group ( five people inc myself now) We all play onlie w/ VASSAL and use Ventrilo for voice chat, and share files with each other using free Dropbox accounts.
Also had the chance to meet Meteo in person and game with him face to face, and got to play a VASSAL match with Trekcross as well.
So yea finding this place has been a very god thing for me I think :-) and am happy to keep contributing however I can.

Hi I'm Bernard and I'm interested in the Technical side of Star Trek and over the years I've collected both FASA and SFB material. I've never played the game but I like the techncial and background material that FASA came up with so I'm always interested in finding out new things about the game.

Well, I am Trekcross aka John from Texas. I actualy got into FASA Trek as the Game lost its license. So I have over the years been busy collecting most of the books on Ebay and other auction sites over the years. Unfortunatly the small town I live in there is not a big Star Trek gaming presences so I have always been reaching out to sites and fellow fans for a long time. Been coming to the original site since the late 90's and was one of the first ones on the Forum when Brad started it up.
Like Bernard, I am more into the Technical side of the Ships and have about three major ongoing projects that I switch through when I get free time working on (when RL is not in the way.) I have a Federation module like the White Flame I am working on based on the Blue Fleet mentioned in the Federation SRM, a Planetary Attack and Ship Boarding System, and a two small gaming modules for a Klingon Crew and a Federation Intelegence team.
I have also been looking to expand the ship via more the line of support ships vs front line Ships of the Line. I found an online Artist Reverend Trigster and have been taking several of his ships, which I need to get reposted since the reset, back up.

@kaiser
Similar story from me in how I got into Star Trek! My late Dad got me the first six James Blish novelizations of the episodes just as Star trek was first being screened here in the UK. I've been a fan ever since then (1970-ish). Two of my favorite Trek possesions are an original copy of said Technical Manual and the Booklet of General Plans for Constitution Class Starships!
After I had dabbled with D&D with friends, I decided to get the FASA RPG when it was just coming out. Over five years, myself and one other ran alternately about twenty scenarios, some FASA and some our own. Then due to one of the players who joined our RPG group, I was introduced to the STSTCS side of the system, and I think I got hold of the boxed set just before FASA lost the license, although had played for a bit with Ian's rules and SRM's.
And here we are now!

Welcome all!
I have a question about the box game. I bought the ST3 marketed version, but some years later, in 1987, I saw some guys in the gamer's club at College playing with Markers I had never seen before, and there were specs I hadn't seen; the Remora for example. Which box version was that, because I have never seen any other pix than the ST3 version on the net?

Welcome Gorn, hope you are enjoying it here.
I just put out a few reminders on the FASA related Yahoo Groups to see if we can bring drock and mustaka back to our fold. Hope it works.

Hey I'm Carl and I've been a Treknologist for years. I remember playing the FASA game back in the 80s/90s. I still have my collection of various starships with FASA stats from a lot of sources. I have a very large Trek library as well (episode guides, tech manuals, blueprints, etc.)

Hello...I mean..."HI", because I am New Here. Just a 'Trek' Fan. The Members of this site are Very Helpful and knowledgeable and have a fantastic network. I have been working on filling in the blanks for Warp Drives/Nacelles prior to ~2130 (+ or - 5 years) and I have been in Contact with some Awesome People. I would not hesitate in asking anything Star Trek Related.

Greetings. Looking around the room I see many familiar faces, but also some new ones. I am theSwede, a.k.a. Rheal, a quiet, humble man from The Great White North, or Canada for those unaware of our two greatest of philosophers, Bob and Doug MacKenzie.
I have been an avid player of FASA Star Trek since 1983 when I got my copy of the second edition RPG rules and, shortly thereafter, my first box set: Star Trek III, Starship Combat Game. The rest of the support supplements came afterwards and my collection, though well used, is almost complete.
I have had almost 30 years playing this game and have had a group of varying size for all that time.

My (late) Dad didn't really care to understand Trek much -nor my fascination with it..although I think he did like the movies. He took me to see Star Trek III when I asked him to, and that was my first Trek movie, so I guess in a way, he helped me get into it as well.

Hello all, I'm Andy. I know many of you already, welcome on board, to those who are new. I'm from Texas also, but have lived in alot of different places. I discovered this site way back in 2000-2001, but didn't actually join until 2008. Of course I love Trek for many reasons. I'm an artist and have always been very interested in the behind- the- scenes, the artwork, models and creative process of the series and films. I discovered the FASA STSSTCS game in 1984 and bought my first -and only- one in 1985 from "Starland" in Colorado. (I Bought ALOT of stuff from "Starland" come to think of it.) For many years, I took my game everywhere I went, Germany, Turkey, and all over the US when I was in the Air Force. Back in 1992, all of my materials and game were stolen, and I never really got over it. I haven't played in years. One of the big problems I had with the game was finding other players.
