I wasn't into PC gaming during the golden era of trek video games and missed the ones released in the late 90s/early 00s including Bridge Commander. Is that one worth playing compared with something like Legacy that I also haven't played? I know they're not exactly the same type of game so it's not an apples to apples comparison but they're pretty much the two latest games besides the ones currently available (STO and Bridge Crew). It looks like Legacy has alot more extensive mod support but I'm not familiar with that scene admittedly either.

I had fun with Legacy but I'm weird. If you want a multiplayer game that simulates the STCS then legacy is the game for you. The only difference is the phasers/weapons are fired from a capacitor like star fleet battles (not a bad mechanic to implement in the board game BYW.)
I think that also explains why there are so many FASA ships in that game, and why is shares so many sound effects with the console versions of mechwarrior.
Never played bridge commander though.

I don't think you're weird if you had fun with Legacy. I don't think the game was a huge hit (at least on consoles) but the friend of mine who played it back in the day enjoyed it. Does Legacy have fasa ships in it? I don't recall seeing any in the videos on youtube I've watched but it was only a few that I saw.

Playing the Winged Defender in a video game was awesome! I only wish there had been a romulan campaign... and I'm still trying to unlock the uss legacy. It's hard to save that much $$ because having 4 battleships is fun.

Thanks for the info! I decided to look up the game on the memory alpha/beta wiki and found the entry with a list of included ships. I think the reason why I didn't notice the fasa ones is because I was focusing on the fed player controlled or allied ships and not the adversaries. I didn't see any fasa fed ships but the Romulans and Klingons have a bunch. Dammit... now I have to get the game! memory-beta.fandom.com/wiki/Legacy_(game)

Ok, you damn dirty apes... you did it.. you finally did it... you made me buy the game! I checked out whether it was in stock locally in gamestop and it actually was unlike last time. It's the first game I've gotten for the 360 in probably 7 years since Mass Effect 3.

Finished the first mission today. I definitely enjoyed seeing the variety of ships in that mission and went straight to the skirmish editor to see what was offered. It was nice to see some original designs, some aptly named fasa designs, some designs with fasa names but not similar, and others not named as their fasa counterparts but clearly based on them. Of the original ships (not sure if they appear in previous games), my favorite seems to be the Poseidon class destroyer that you rescue in that first mission. I found myself controlling that ship as I liked the look. memory-beta.fandom.com/wiki/Poseidon_classI have to say though that the controls (at least in the nx era) are too clunky for the xbox controller and the ships maneuver like they're in fluidic space instead of a vacuum!

are you on Xbox LIve? We could play a match, I think matchmaking is still up for that game.
I had a match maybe 2 years ago but can't find anything since.
But the Biggest oversight in this game is that your ship can cloak but it will still show up on the mini-map for the enemy. Kind of sucks for PVP.
