If you want to model some of the individual Federation member worlds' starships, here's another source for you. Andorian Kumari Class Battlecruiser SchematicsImage credit: Drex Files Andorian Kumari Class Battlecruiser in standard orbitImage credit: Star Trek: Enterprise / CBS / Memory Alpha So you want to use Andorian starships in a FASA game, like the Kumari class above? How about using various Agents of Gaming Babylon 5 minis for exactly that purpose? Agents of Gaming various Drazi minis for Andorian starships! The big mini in the middle is quite a close approximation of the Kumari class starship shown on the Trek prequel series. As soon as I first saw it, I thought, "that looks Drazi in design!". All that was missing was the red/yellow wasp engine glow of the Drazi ships in Babylon 5! The three main ships all have a central hull, wider at the front, with wings extending outward, similar to the canon Kumari class, and are from the bigger range that were available from Agents of Gaming. The little painted one in front is the smaller 'Fleet Scale' mini of the big mini that I described above, giving you at least four Andorian styled vessel types. I'll try and find the mini names for each mini in the next few days, I just wanted to get the pic posted. Mark EDIT - 27/10/17 - The names of the minis in the above pic are: Back row, from left to right, Babylon 5 Wars Drazi Sky Serpent Super-Heavy Fighter, Babylon 5 Wars Drazi Strikehawk Battlecruiser, Babylon 5 Wars Drazi Stormfalcon Heavy Cruiser. Front row, the Fleet Action version of the Strikehawk Battlecruiser. You might still be able to get some of these minis from the Agents of Gaming site.

The Attack Wing/HeroClix Klingons and Romulans work really well with the FASA/Starline 2400 scales. Most of the Federation ships are very very small for some reason. Still very usable as minis, but definitely not in scale with some of the other empires. If you are searching ebay for Trek minis, the heroclix are usually a few bucks cheaper than the attack wing versions. Both use the same models, but they have different paint jobs. The heroclix usually have the better paint! Its pretty easy to remove the heroclix bases if you are careful, the plastic can be very brittle though. A starline 2400 base is pretty easy to make work with these too, just have to carefully drill out the mounting hole a bit. I use them all the time in my games.

WizKids recently announced that they are releasing a lot of the Attack Wing minis unpainted, at a lower price than the pre-paints. Also, I'd heard they were re-designing some of the minis that are woefully out of scale, like the original TOS Enterprise mini, which was about the size of a shuttle compared to other TOS / Movie Era vessels.

In this thread, I've shown FASA/Citadel, ADB Star Fleet Battles, Silent Death, Aerotech, Agents of Gaming B5 and Heroclix/Attack Wing minis to use in STSTCS games. So now, here's some Shapeways minis I've picked up. Shapeways Fleet Escort, System Fleet Lite Frigate and Heavy Cruiser by The VerseThe link to the Shapeways shop that supplied them, the Verse... www.shapeways.com/shops/verses?section=Fleet&s=0Three Trek inspired minis in the 'White Strong and Flexible' material. Now this is usually the cheapest material to get Shapeways minis printed in. Yes, it has a rough appearance, but when I painted one of the Fleet Escort minis up, using grey car spray primer then white primer, as shown below... Unpainted and painted Fleet Lite Frigate mini...this has a smoothing effect. The detailing is in acrylic. Yes, it still might be rough very close up three inches from your face... Close up of Fleet Lite Frigate mini...but these aren't model kits. At gaming distances on the mapsheet, they look fine to my eyes. If you want to pay more for the other materials, the prices are just too much for me personally. Yes, you will see phaser turrets because of higher resolution, but when I use spray paint, I'm probably going to cover those up anyway! I saw those minis on a blog somewhere, and ordered them when they were at a price of about 6GBP at the end of 2015. This was a price which I paid for the larger FASA minis back in the day, or more recently on eBay. I try and stay to that price limit if I can. These days, of course, the Pound to Dollar ratio is worse off since the UK voted to leave the EU! All three minis have similar detail underneath, including a main sensor dish like the old Star Fleet Technical Manual starships... Underneath details of Fleet Lite Frigate miniThe descriptions of the minis I picked up say they are 'scaled to the 1976 RPG minis', which I take to mean the plastic Lou Zocchi Gamescience minis that are still available from ADB, Lou Zocchi himself, and others. As a comparison, here's a couple of pics of the Fleet Escort with the Citadel Reliant miniature... Shapeways Fleet Lite Frigate compared to Citadel (FASA) Reliant miniShapeways Fleet Lite Frigate and Citadel (FASA) Reliant minis from aboveIf I can find them, I will try the Letraset numbers that I use for NCC numbers. Hopefully, they will work on the rougher than FASA minis surface. On the blog I saw them on, they have decals, I think from Pompey Decals? Here's a link to that blog where I first saw them. The 'TOS Reliant' mini in those pics I couldn't find on the Shapeways shop, so I went with the Fleet Escort style instead. www.freewebs.com/norrins/apps/blog/show/43535920-latest-reinforcements-for-space-trekI've got a few more Shapeways minis that I picked up last year. I'll try to get them posted soon. I really have to try and get them all painted up! Mark

I've just noticed today that Photobucket, where I have my mini photos, no longer supports free 3rd Party hosting, so all my mini pics will no longer appear here (don't worry, they are still on Photobucket). I knew this might happen, someone from the ADB board mentioned it there and on the TrekBBS board as well. So I will be transferring the images sometime in the near future to another image hosting site. Any recommendations from anyone with experience elsewhere? I've heard of Flicks, Imgur and Google of course. Mark EDIT: Its basically about money, for more, see here... s230.photobucket.com/p500/

Ok, so as you can see from my avatar and signature pictures and the first Starfleet image, I've started to get the images back up in this thread. I think I've got all the original images transferred from Photobucket to my new image hosting site (postimage.org) this evening.
Later in the week, I am going to start the longer process of deleting the old links and inserting the new links.
Please bear with me on this.

Aerotech Stuka (!) and FASA D-2 StingtongueAerotech Stuka upside down (L) and right way up (R)!Here's my first cheat for the Romulans using the Aerotech Stuka model for a modern Romulan destroyer! I just thought it looked cool that way in comparison to the FASA D-2 mini, and flipped the model upside down (see second pic above) to hide the domed cockpit! The underneath air intake looks like the grill on the top of the FASA D-7 and V-11 anyway. A few hints of feathers in a geometric design on the wings, and voila! I remember on the original thread on the old board that swede used the Stuka mini for a Klingon ship, and jeffwright wondering what the mini would look like with Klingon BoP style disruptors on the front wings! I suppose you could use the right way up to represent the Klingon vessel! Because we mentioned this, meteo created stats for a Romulan and Klingon variant! By the way, meteo, if you want to re-post those stats, could you keep them to your Klingon and Romulan sections please? I want to keep this thread for mini pics and thoughts on substitutes. If you want to link to the pics, feel free to do so. Mark would like to see the pictures of "on the original thread on the old board that swede used the Stuka mini for a Klingon ship, and jeffwright wondering what the mini would look like with Klingon BoP style disruptors on the front wings! I suppose you could use the right way up to represent the Klingon vessel!

Aerotech Corsair and SamuryiTo give our gaming group models to go with all of the new designs we created, here are two more Aerotech designs serving in the Star Navy. A bit clunky compared to the FASA designs, perhaps, but using the more ususual Aerotech designs, such as these and the Shilone above, gives you more variety. I think that the Corsair on the left has a bit of similarity to the K-22/S-11 style Bird of Prey design myself. The more unusual designs could be rationalized as either older designs, lower tech used by smaller shipyards, or just because the design esthetic of birds that seems hardwired into the Romulan psyche is just that strong! Silent Death Star Raven and RevengeAnother manufacturer to use for vessels representing the Romulans, just as the Silent Death Salamander was used for the Klingons. These two are just very cool as modern Romulan cruisers, I think. Klingon K-11 Star Raven and Romulan V-22 Ravenkiller! As mentioned before in my Klingon and Romulan ship stats sections, myself and another player called dibs on the cool Star Raven mini for the Romulans and Klingons. So below for your enjoyment and gaming pleasure are the links to the stats for the Romulan and Klingon versions of the Star Raven. Here for the V-22 (reply#1)... ststcsolda.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ststcsoldashipsetc&action=display&thread=22...and here for the K-11 (reply #4)... ststcsolda.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ststcsoldashipsetc&action=display&thread=21 Can we hame the stats on the revenge?

Various SciFi Grav tank designs as Gorn Cruisers!!Here's the surprise I was talking about last year to Gorn about using other minis for the Gorn. Look about for various manufacturers that produce 6mm scale grav tank designs to use as Gorn vessels! This was the idea of one of our gaming group, and he used quite a few manufacturers. If you add cardstock or plasticard nacelles to the main bodies of certain grav tanks, without their seperate turrets, voila, instant Gorn starships! The one on the left is from Scotia Grendel Productions in the UK, and is similar to the model listed as "SF0015 - Light Grav APC" but with square 'nacelles' if you see what I mean. I can't find a pic on the site that matches exactly the mini above, but that one is close. Here is the web address of Scotia Grendel Productions... www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=217_219_24_193_200The one on the right I think originally came from Adler Minis as a Dark Star 6mm Sci Fi tank. That range can now be found at this address... www.darkeststargames.com/6mm-dark-star-sci-fi-range--federation.html...although I can't see an exact match for this mini there now. But a few of the designs there now (September 2016) may still be able to be used as Gorn vessels without the turrets on them, and plasticard nacelles added, as I said earlier. On this Dark Star one above, I've stuck a couple of hex stand posts to show you what it might look like, as I can't find my supply of plasticard at present to make nacelles properly for it. With the sleek lower wedge style of the grav tank hull, it could be used as a modern TMP era Gorn design. I'll try and get proper nacelles on it and get it painted up in the near future. Meanwhile, the picture below shows the SS-3 mini in comparison to the Dark Star mini proxy to show how it matches the Gorn wedge style. FASA Gorn SS-3 resin Destroyer and Adler miniature Dark Star grav tank comparisonHopefully, when I find the proper materials to make the the proper nacelles, this should work. Mark

I suppose you could use the right way up to represent the Klingon vessel! Here's my pic of the Stuka in Romulan colours. I don't think there were any pics posted of it with Klingon disruptors attached. I haven't modified any of my minis. Give me a day or so, and I'll post any of our stats that will fit the Samurai/Revenge mini. We sort of used it as a generic model to be honest, but I'll write up a backstory as well if I can.

This post would be way easier to work from or with if the pictures were here, I hope they are soon!! UPDATE 2 - OK, that's this threads' pictures all relinked. I've added a few pics in a couple of the earlier posts. If you scan over them, I've added an edit reason if I've added any pics to any one particular post. If I just relinked the pics, I didn't put down an edit reason. I've just got to finish relinking the pics on my stats pages, and that will be me up to date. Mark

FINAL UPDATE - I've uploaded my missing images of a couple of Federation ships on my stats thread, so that should be me finally up to date with new minis/schematics images on all my threads. If anyone finds any I've missed, please let me know! Is there any resin version of FASA's Enterprises (TOS and TMP) that have decent enough pylon supports (not bent/warped)? I need replacements for my old Sn-Pb I'm not sure if anyone does resin TOS and TMP Enterprises, Gorn. You might get lucky and find something on Shapeways?

Last time I looked they had everything BUT those - not wanting to be easily sued, I'd imagine... I'd try and get the MicroMachines versions if you can then. Although slightly bendy plastic, they are NOWHERE as bad as the flimsy FASA versions, especially the TMP refit mini. It's why I use the Citadel version, plus the ADB SL2400 mini for the Connie.
