I too am genuinely hurt by thus news. Rush have been part if my life since the early 70s.
RIP Neil you will be missed by many.

He left a great legacy that will be enjoyed for generations. We forget that these people are mortal sometimes because we so often associate them with our own youth. I listened to Rush a bit in the '80's, and always associate Tom Sawyer with youth. I was a teenager, riding my 5-speed Schwinn on a warm, sunny day and listening to the radio on my walk-man knock-off. Learning of Niel's passing casts a shadow on my great old memory. It's a very selfish thing, but that's part of the nature of fandom.

One of their most profound songs was "Subdivisions". It's the one I remember the most. Still is that profound all these decades later.
May Neal rest in peace. He is a rarity, no doubt about it.

I've been listening to pretty much every regular Rush album I have (and even ordered one I don't) just because of this. It's amazing how many good tunes they cranked out over the years.
