Based on the various images it appears to me that the warp nacelle structure is able to rotate. Is this correct? Fluff wise, I'd guess that this allows for subtle shifts to warp geometry for optimized warp efficiency.

I wanted this ship to have an experimental warp propulsion system based on theories first employed by the Orions in the TOSR "Journey to Babel".

This might be the most awesome Ship you have done lately boss. The rotating warp geometry is a cool concept. Thanks to the other fans cus it took me a sec to suss that out.
I thought the warp nacelles were on a Vulcan type wheel at first.

I thought the warp nacelles were on a Vulcan type wheel at first. Thanks bro. The Constellation class has always been a favorite of mine from the moment I first saw her. I have always loved her look...A beefy Miranda-like ship that just exudes 80's movie richness in the quality of her build and her details. I have always though she was a beast of a ship. Now feeling this way, I have never really sought out to change her in anyway (unlike the Connie, and the Miranda classes), but a good friend of mine ask me to come up with a terran empire version of this ship and I was like, "really?". I mean TMP needs very little to look military so just slap some gold accents and call it a day, correct? No. Not correct. So I thought about little things I could do to distinct the terran version from the standard, but quickly just hating the optioning. So I started from scratch with some perspective sketches to see how I wanted her presence to be seen. Then it hit me... A rotating nacelle-pylon assembly at the end. I felt this would add to the strangeness and bizzaro nature of the Mirror Universe. Once that became the clear course of action the rest came easily. The nacelle-pylon assembly would be connected to a rotating drum, which meant that I needed to bulk up the ship some more, and that lead to adding some Miranda-class hull superstructures not just to the top, but also to the ventral as the standard Constellation is very symmetrical dorsal-ventrally (not counting the pods). After that she started to exhibit a more bulky, whale-like side view profile to which I liked. I also added to the dorsal-ventral symmetry by removing the standard Constellation's front ventral pods, and adding two dorsal heavy phaser turrets directly above the ventral pods. I then addressed the photon torpedo launchers, and while at first I thought it would be cool to just leave them at their original placement (you know, a visually stunning shot of torpedoes being fired in a helix-like spiral towards you...lol), but then decided to opt against it as a direct barrage is more of the terran empire's style, so I opted for a four-chambered, vertically stacked launcher. This "new" Constellation is a heavily armoured, fast, brick of a ship, that is designed to act like a hammer towards the enemies of terran empire.

There's the now defunct Star Trek book "Dark Mirror", where the TNG crowd meets their doppelgangers. I can't recall if there is a spock beard in it, but they travel with a sentient dolphin who can sense quantum filaments and hyperstrings with subspace dolphin sonar. Naturally this was before Ds9 where we learned the terran empire was kaput. But looking at this, this looks like the ship that Dark Picard started out on.
