This is based on an un-used TOS concept of the USS Enterprise by the late Walter Matt Jefferies to honour one of the greatest men in aero-space history: Neil Alden Armstrong Enjoy mates: Oh and special thanks to Tus for discussing the design with me at some length for some secondary insight... Thanks mate, much obliged.

LOL meteo, your scale is a bit off...the saucer is about 10% larger in diameter than a Connie(compare it with the bridge module, and island suprestructure)... so if the TOS connie was some 289m roughly, the Armstrong would be substantially longer. you may want to also increase your crew figures. and figure something nifty about the hulls that get integrated into the nacelles just so you know The Bussard collector is in the front of the saucer Rim.

Those are the best drawn nacelles I have seen in awhile.

Those are the best drawn nacelles I have seen in awhile. Thanks, but you do realize the Nacelles are only the aft half section of the whole structure correct?

cool design .... would look good as an updated drawing i think maybe even using some of the newer warp drive style engines and hull parts modified to fit this particular design idea

well I wanted the ship to be TOS, that's why she looks the way she does.

Sorry guys - I don't like the design of the ship. I didn't read the actual stats; those are independent of the look of it. I wonder if Jeffries was putting out any idea that struck him, and from all of those ideas, a good design would emerge?
Like, when during the process did this design come out? If it were earlier, then you can clearly see where the Enterprise got its main components; they are almost all here. If it were later, then you can see all the elements are rearranged. I expect Jeffries made alot of concept designs...are there others that are very close to TOS?

I don't know if this design came before -or after- the configuration that ended up being Enterprise, but I saw this and one other of Jeffries in the "Art Of Star Trek" I will investigate.
