Hi Captains,
I've recently come back to STSTCS after a long hiatus and wanted something that would be really visually stunning for convention games. As I use LEGO for miniatures for some of my other starship games, I did some Google-fu and found this gem of a collection: Ky-ebricks Star Trek
At this scale, a K'tinga battlecruiser is 6.25 inches long. I figure I can use a nominal 4 or 6 inch hex size depending on how much space I have. As no one makes a gigantic hex map, I'd then use a ruler and 60 degree turn gauge instead of "real hexes."
I have the LEGO parts on the way for 3 K'tingas and will order 3 or 4 federation ships once I get the colors to my liking on the designs.
I'll want to stand up some sort of website for my creations after I get some ships built. Though long, startrektacticalcombatsimulator.com is available...

LEGO is such a unique building tool. Having spent 30 years running the local model railroad show circuit it's been interesting to see the rise of LEGO as a mainstay display in these shows. Many of my friends are LEGO enthusiasts and build beautiful creations to display. My wife is very tightly associated with one of the local LEGO groups as well. Those ships would look great as a stand off display, especially in a game or science fiction convention.
I have used LEGO to build ships for my FASAtrek games as well when scratchbuilding something one off and unique would have taken more time than was worth expending in the campaign set up. Granted, these ships still exist, and one is 40 years old!
Cheers.

I'm setting up some image hosting for pictures and registered startrektacticalsimulator.com to host content, so more coming soon...

Testing the new hosting set up... Hmmm, the image isn't showing up on the forum, but if you hold on the little symbol on my Android phone and 'Show image' the pic can be seen. Nice K'Tinga battlecruiser, by the way.

Hi Trynda,
I'm a big fan of Intercept Orbit (https://glyphpress.com/talk/mobile-frame-zero-002-intercept-orbit-final-pdf) which is made with LEGO minis in mind, and it's "Parent" mecha game Mobile Frame 0 (https://mobileframezero.com/mfz/)
