So, what scale do folks prefer for their miniatures? 1/3788 (Old FASA scale)? 1/3125 (new Starline 2500 scale)? Something else?

Im a fan of the starline 2400, micro machine, or FASA scale since that's what the majority of my minis are! I like the 1/3125 scale but repurchasing all of my ships would be very expensive!

Minor correction - FASA is 1/3900 - classic SFB is 1/3788 (the scale Lou Zocchi chose for SFBM).
I'm a fan of the classic FASA/SFB minis. Nothing particularly wrong with the larger minis but, I'd rather stick to the old scale (stuck in the mud).

Well, I voted for 1/2500 cause I really want to start a fleet at that scale. Really tho they aren't "miniatures" at that scale. They are models.

I voted FASA scale. Like starcat and starcruiser both said, I don't want to have to build new fleets in a new scale. Yes, there are some garage kits of some FASA ships about, but in 1/2500 scale, not 1/3125 Starline SL2500 scale. I like that a few of the new SL2500 minis are being scaled down to SL2400 scale. Plus, ADB is planning to open a Shapeways store soon. Interesting times ahead. Mark

It's a tough question to answer. The best gaming scale is the 1/3788. But for modeling, 1/2500 has a lot of GREAT kits (it's the easiest scale to get EVERY enterprise from NX-01 to "E") and fits the display case/shelf better. I can say I would probably own a scale in both, but I will buy more Game scale ships than models, no doubt. that is, unless you want to give me a 1/270 scale runabout for my X-wing game. I'll vote with my $$, lol. I bet I'll win this thing eventually. 1/3788 first and for less iconic ships. But I want every "Major" ship in the 1/2500 scale (battleships, cruisers, more common destroyers).

You can mix and match I suppose, but would have to figure out which scale you would use fo a certain ship Class. Not really a problem with how fast a new ship class can be built with the construction Manual.\ mac

SFB's scale for Starline 2200-2400 is, IIRC, 1/3900, or thereabouts; quite close to the FASA scale.
