very nice! I'm going to have to get one of each modeler's wares and have them be different variants.
Nice choice on the command pod...Suddenly you have me wondering what it would look like with something like the L-24 pod.

I'll have to rescale a bit for the FASA-scale folk, I've got it in 1/3125 right now, but I'll be glad to make it available.

Sounds good to me. I dig your other models, I'm working up permission for a shopping spree.

rabid: Let me know which ones you want and I'll make sure they're all converted to 1/3788 for you. I've already got some up in that, and in 1/5000, from earlier requests.

Oddly enough, I'm getting a TNG-era 'vibe' off this variation; maybe that's because of the angular nature of the Vor'Cha being reflected here.
I'll hazard a guess that Sketchup doesn't play nice with complex curved surfaces? Or is the straight-edged hullform a design choice?
And, with advanced apologies for the unsolicited advice...
I'd personally choose to make the 'deckhouse' larger, and the command pod smaller - the latter change to emphasise the mass of the main hull, which I think is needed to highlight the D-10's role as a big, bad, bruiser of a ship.

This could be an early model, too. Nice to see some variation, it would make it easy to tell different models on the board and strategize accordingly.

And yeah, Sketchup and complex curved surfaces are not the best of friends.
Bigger deckhouse, smaller command pod, hm?

Bigger deckhouse makes sense. If the engines are to scale with the D-7 then the current after impulse/shuttlebay whatever the hell they put in there deckhouse is maybe a tad too small.

The neck seems thin to me but then they always have on the klingon ships, and the hardest part to get right after the nacelles.

So I've been working on the design a bit and after some serious Issues with sketchup's handling of the geometry, I've decided on fairly limited changes to the deckhouse.
The command pod has been shrunk slightly, and then the entire figure shrunk by about 10% to get to a 95mm length - matching the dimensions shown in the SRM for a 1/3125 scale. Getting it to 1/3788 or 1/3900, unless you're willing to print in HDA or FUD, will be more difficult.
The smaller deckhouse serves to make the rest of the ship seem bigger by comparison, emphasizing its difference in scale from the D7.
