Hey there,
I know most people arent super into the newer movies, but they do have some pretty cool star-ships! Does anyone know of any minis being made? I have the smaller hot wheels enterprise and vengeance and all of the larger versions of the nutrek ships from hot wheels as well, but I would love to have models of all the other star-ships. Any ideas?

Thanks for that, looks like the attack wing/tactics version don't get released til april 2018, but I just preordered them!
The eaglemoss ones are nice, but pricey!
I was hoping someone that did things through shapeways would have released a few 3d prints by now. I found ones of the new Enterprise and one of the new D7, but Im really wanting some of the other ships as well preferably in the 1/3900 or so scale.
Guess Ill keep looking.

I hate the Enterprise from nuTrek and, sadly, the refit looks worse. I hate the Vengeance. I dislike the other federation ships from nuTrek. I do, however, like the federation ships from Axanar which are based on the Kelvin-verse designs but fixed.

▲▲▲ I have very similar thoughts on the matter.
The "Nu-Prise" looked like melted Byoo-tox. The ships from Axanar are spot on.

The ships in Axanar had good looking engine nacelles - based on those of TOS. The saucers of the Kelvin-verse ships (other than JJPrise) were similar enough to the saucer design of the "Baton Rouge" and "Detroyat" classes in the fan community so, I let those pass as decent.
There isn't a design yet in Disco that passes even the most basic tests for consistency or even decent style. Even JJDrek did better than Disco...

Disco IS JJDrek. It's got the same irrational blow up from professionals that Trek was never about. I'm just not going to get started on DiscoDrek right now. I think I'll be on more of a Star Wars kick until the movie's done and dusted.

When I watched the refit build montage at the end of JJTrek 3, I didn't see much difference like between the TOS and TMP ships!

Ya know, I used to feel the same way as most of you about the JJverse, but it's really grown on me the last few years. Once I fully accepted "alternate universe" and all the stuff I could separate it from "my" Star Trek and just it enjoy it on its own terms. I think sometimes we feel threatened by new ideas and have to be reminded that "young minds, new ideas", isn't necessarily a bad thing. That being said, I wish they would have stuck a bit closer to the original designs. They don't look great from the side views. But three quarter shots or from the top, they don't look half bad. To each their own! At this point, Im just happy that we've had new Trek movies (even if its not quite the Trek we wanted), and Ill be kind of sad if there is never a fourth JJverse movie to finish it all off with.

The weird thing I think is that seeing pics of the JJPrise mini in about the same scale of the FASA minis makes it look not as outlandish! There was a keychain one which was FASA/Micromachines sized, plus a few others?
Haven't ever got any myself, but I've seen some good repaints of it, plus some kitbashes of it too.

THEre is a Hot Wheels car JJ-enterprise, it looks exactly in scale with the *original* specs they put out. Honestly the only thing that kills the JJ prise for me is that it's supposed to be bigger than the NCC 1701-d, based on some inconsistent shots of the shuttle bay. I sometimes think the JJ film crew got tired of the complaints about the error, so instead they just said "y'know what? It IS actually THAT big!" Gee thanks, overly exacting trekkies. If you want a JJtrek mini for kit-bashing look for that one. The saucer and secondary hull are die-cast, and I found 20 of them for $1 each at the local vintage stock. www.16bit.com/fotd/130605-hot-wheels-uss-enterprise.asp

I thought the key ring one would be better for kitbashing, although I'm assuming that based on it looks plastic, similar to the old Micromachines minis.

I have few of them they are Micro Machine sized but plastic is just tad softer but not too bendy Hotwheels ones are made from harder Plastic
