I just love that ship. She is so elegant. A worthy foil to the refit Connie!

Well - if it's close to the accuracy of that 3D printed prototype - there won't be much need for aftermarket upgrades. They are talking about a lighting kit (all of white plastic would be clear parts) and if sales are good - a Qo'Nos 1 would follow later.
I'm sure there will have to be a few compromises made to actually tool the kit up. Anyway you look at it, it blows the nacelles off of the older AMT 1/537th junker!
And every time I look at it, this runs through my mind:

Ha!
Funny especially when I looked at the bridge pod, that Klingon them started playing in my mind. Not sure I would buy this but damn it looks cool. You lose so much with the table top miniatures. Detail here is just staggering.

I have 2 metal and 1 resin on FASA scale. Along with a D10, which was not a bad design at all. Also an L24, a VERY good design for the mid 80's.
There is more detail on this D-7M (heh) than the older model from the 80's, but everything else seems to be the same; same cuts for assembly etc. Maybe the folks at... OH NO allscaletrek.com is no longer up! ...dammit.

All Scale Trek is in the process of moving or updating - they'll be back.
Where a model maker "cuts" the parts for molding is not going to vary all that much. With a ship like this, there are only a few practical options and remember, this one will be ~24 inches long and ~18 inches wide! Far more imposing than that oddball AMT kit from 1979 and FAR better detailed (proportioned...etc...).
The kitbashing options just boggle the mind...

It also makes kitbashes of smaller ships more viable since they won't be dinky hunks of plastic next to it. K'Tor, anyone?

We need a better resource here for finding FASA scale ships. Maybe a pinned subject with just contact info. Or else a link to the same on allscaleTrek
