"Enterprise" series finally answers the question of aft torps/phasers; long since FASA... But you can clearly see aft phaser emplacements on Enterprise refits in the Motionless Picture. So - I added aft banks to Const and Ent class, as well as one aft torp for each. The problem is that throws Klings out of whack. I was considering making them have 2 firable torps/arc - but ONE damageable launcher - since they only have the one obvious tube fwd/aft... What do you guys think? Attachments:

...I had a MkIIA Constitution with a few aft phasers, and In "Friday's Child"and "Arena", they made minor references to aft phasers in the background.
...I also made studio-accurate models of the Enterprise and Miranda classes, with a bunch of extra FH-1s, in 360o and aft arcs. (Ent), and 2f, 2 fp, and 2 fs phasers, with 4 torpedo launchers, 2f, and 2a.
Also; I don't trust ENT much, at best I would treat it as a different take on things.

The only problem I have is that while there are definite aft phasers on Enterprise in the Motionless Picture, I still have no clue where the aft torpedoes would be. For Klingon Academy, paramount told the designers that Ent has firing arcs all around the ship; FULL 360. I have a post ST2 DC comic that references asking Paramount if Aft torpedoes were OK and they OKd it - which is not saying so much, though, since it is still considered non-canon if not done by GR.
Any ideas on aft torp launch bays, or is it simply a no-go?

Now you might be familiar with the ABBE class Interceptor. The impulse deck is very wide, since the rear spine runs between the two exhaust ports. Keep the saucer and the very wide impulse deck bifurcation, and place rear firing torpedoes between the impulse exhaust. shipschematics.net/startrek/images/federation/ptdestroyer_abbe.jpgThis way, the side view and the secondary hull are not marred. O/T there was an interesting Magazine ad for a Mazda that had a federation looking saucer--"Separated at Birth"

FASA explained their decision to "limit" the number of weapons on each ship design. Even in the original series, the Enterprise was bristling with phaser banks. The D-7 in TMP and later has at least 8 discernible disruptor weapons. Had FASA decided to represent all of the weapons available on each ship, the games would have been either too complicated (slowing down game play) or too quick ("fire phasers....OK, let's play again"). So FASA deliberately limited the weapons on each ship to maintain game balance. As you have already figured out, making changes to one ship to be "film-accurate" will force you to alter just about every other ship to compensate. So your choices are to leave it be or change everything.

Changed everything. Since it's a turn-based game I saw no problem 30 yrs ago with making it one weapon/target/firing phase as the manual suggested, and we've had fun games ever since.
