Well. In a cleanup to reduce the amount of useless clutter lying around, some STSTCS stuff got the ax. I have no need of TAC value sheets from the STIII release. I haven't used them for 25 years, and have had them for about 35 now. They went into the recycle with my teenage script on 'em; almost one page per FASA ship; some with more than 1. Not a good system for the game anyway!
Might have to toss that styrofoam "black hole" from my thread of the same name. I used it once and not since. Kind of takes up space.

No, the minis don't take up much space, but someone will be getting a 1.5' D-7 "Black Fire" at a church sale.

Did you put anything up on EBAY? someone recently sold the counters only (and some were obviously reprints) for $4.99 for a lot.
ALso it's funny your D-7 will blacken the halls of a church...

Wife sent a bunch of items to the church; nowhere else to send it that would want it. I hope some kid winds up with it, and does some research. Maybe he will get inspired to do Science instead of religion.

Or he'll learn they aren't mutually exclusive. Or he could start worshipping fek'lar. Agreed. Many of the Engineers I work with are people of faith, and their work holds up just as well as the Atheist Engineers' work. Both types of engineers design parts and assemblies that fit in the planes just the same and work just as well. Also... we should be using "fea" and "fea'll" in place of the rather toxic "he" and "he'll". It's actually quite simple: [ LINK]

Lmao are you serious? Hopefully I'll be long dead before that particular forced etymology is finally established. Thankfully it's needlessly complicated and unnatural so the chances of it becoming real language is slim.

Fortunately, there's no reason to go beyond the "They, Them, Their etc..." set. That's already been used and is practical.

Science and religion are incompatible. Science proves it wrong over and over, religion is an ever shrinking zone of uncertainty. The only way for an educated person to rectify both systems is to practice cognitive dissonance, which is exactly what is seen. The engineer shuts down his critical thinking that he used to design that part so that he can telepathically communicate to an invisible and magical patriarchal figure that lives in the sky. There is no proof of that figure forthcoming, nor can it ever be found, therefore it is inadmissible and incompatible with Science. That same engineer could not do his job based upon telepathic communication and faith. He uses measurements and maths instead. The very things that keep proving declarations made about his invisible and magical patriarchal figure that lives in the sky entirely wrong.
But deniers shut their ears and eyes and loudly declare that Science and religion aren't incompatible, while ignoring that proof they are.

Oh my goodness. I think I still have a 3 inch binder full of TAC sheets and haven't used them since 1989 when I bought my first computer and did my own sheets with the full stats. I never, EVER, used the silly ship sheets that FASA provided that limited the engagement to 12 turns. I also still have all the overpowered, poorly written copies of all the ships I ever designed. That's another 3 inch binder full. I'm no pack rat, but I am a sentimental old fool. On a side note. I know I'm not a moderator, but I would like to ask Ironnerd, Rabid, and you Gorn to please, PLEASE, refrain from your usual god vs science stuff. I like to read what you guys write about; the banter about the game, but when it degenerates into a theological debate, it is a turn off. theSwede

I believe I can do that as well thescreamingswede . That's 2/3 of the problem. Maybe it can be unanimous.

As I said before, don't post bullshit, and I won't expose it for what it is. I don't back down to bullshit. Those two love to fantasize they're manipulating in some way, but if they do it through demonstrably bullshit statements (there was even a member that illustrated his fantasies in comic form), then they are where the ridicule lies.
As this was a thread about getting rid of clutter before the trolls came in; I too was sentimental, Swede, but at some point the lid of my ST3 box was sitting too high. Time to dump a load of papers I hadn't used in decades, either. Once my brothers were teens, we could use full values, and we did. But It's too bad, though, that around 1992 I had gotten rid of a Micronauts game I had built upon the same mechanic!

Not long ago, I took a few long-boxes of comic books from the 1990's to the local comic shop and just donated them. i did the same with some 2e AD&D stuff I had lying around, and my Mekton Zeta books. I think I just tossed my Magic cards.
I had to keep my V&V stuff (I wrote some of the material, and can't bring myself to get rid of my complete collection of V&V rules and adventures - yet), and my Battletech stuff (since I still play it).
It can be difficult just giving that stuff away. They tend to remind us of the good times we had while playing, and time spent with friends that we no longer get to see. After a while you realize that you don't need all the STUFF to keep the memories.

I still have every single book and the originals for every single ship I ever made.
Doesn't take up that much room so why not?

I have a 3" binder full of Villains & Vigilantes adventures, plus all the new publications, and two rules books. For Battletech... I have all the Tech readouts from 3025-3058 (which oddly includes 2750 since it came out after 3025), House Books, Clan books, several compendiums of the rules, maps out the butt, three editions of the RPG, volumes of Mech sheets, and some other sundry items (CityTech, AeroTech, BattleSpace, etc...). Then I started buying the stuff I didn't have in print on pdf (to the tune of 8 gb). I only have three D&D books though. Basic set, Rules Cyclopedia, and 3rd Edition. Big Eyes, Small Mouth 1st ed, plus Cool Starships, Giant Robots, plus Hot Rods and Gun Bunnies, as well as 2nd Edition, Revised 2nd Edition, BESM d20, and BESM 3rd edition.
Compared to all that... One ST:STCS book and a couple of data sheets is nuthin'.
I did think it odd that some of Gorn's stuff ended up in a church. I just see them forming a prayer circle around the box and splashing it with Holy Water while the walls around them drip blood. Having survived the 1980's D&D scare (Ahhh... the Steam Tunnels at U of M), I would be tempted to donate my 3rd edition book to the local Baptist ministry. Could be worth a chuckle or two.

"holy" water is hilarious; it's more like infected and polluted water given it usually comes from the river Jordan without any filtering.

Meh. There's no value to anything in this world except for what we care to impart. That's why Starbucks coffee equates to $33/gallon.
