Well, this is Atolm's fault. His posting of a multi-boom D-7 variant he did up as a physical model got the idea stuck in my head and I had to come up with a ship of my own that utilized the feature. I used Captain Mojo/Tycen's TOS Klingon parts to come up with this thicc TOS era battlecarrier for the Klingon Empire. I've got some fluff already made up in my head regarding why it has twin booms/command pods as well as why the design feature never caught on.
Share that fluff, share that fluff!

I will! I've got the basics in my head but I think this ship will deserve a full stat sheet including background.

Awesome design
Thanks! Eventually I'll get around to posting the designs I can up on thingiverse for others to print. For now, I've just been further tinkering with others.
First up is a kitbash of the STO TMP version of the NX they called the Columbia class. I don't recall where I got the 3d model but it was a flawed export so I had to cut it in half and mirror the "correct" side (hence the line across the saucer). I've long thought the NX refit would look better with an attached flowing secondary hull ala the Sovereign and did a mockup years ago (before I was into 3d models) cut and pasting in MSPaint that I dubbed the NXL class.
For reference, this is the mockup I did originally with the NX.

Thanks! Though you may be biased in favor of anything NX with archer in your name.

Another tweaked ship from this week... the Reoberth class! A bit on the nose but appropriate given that it's a kitbash of captainmojo's parts. The Oberth was always just a bit too different for me though I liked the secondary hull and nacelle shapes. I figured I'd try to kitbash a version in an overall silhouette a bit more familiar.

So from the top down part i think if the square corners on the hull were slightly curved or angled it'd be perfect! That said too i could see this being a useful patrol monitor along borders. Assuming its overall size is still in line with the oberth/gagarin classes?

No, I haven't but I appreciate the interest. While I haven't purposefully abandoned the blog, I haven't been updating it for years due to an unfortunate family situation over the past years (concurrent with the pandemic but not related) along with my ability for years (but now more recently lack of desire) to 3d model convert/print custom ships. Additionally, my interest in trek that was trying to survive with fan films and custom fan content (both my own and others) significantly petered out finally after years of bad STD and two seasons of Picard. Mediocre PikeTrek and a single ok/too little/too late season of Picard didn't reignite the passion either. I'm sorry about that but I do hope that at some point I may become interested again. My original idea was that the overall command of the ship was given to a main commander who controlled the hull and first command pod's weaponry whereas the other commander was in charge of the attack fighter wing as well as the second pod's weaponry in order to support the fighters. Normally on a Federation or Romulan ship this would be accomplished with a single combined command structure on one bridge but that would prove untenable for most klingon officers due to tactical disagreements leading to counterproductive bloodshed on the bridge.

Sorry to hear about your real life issues, and no need for apologies, they obviously take precedent over hobbies. While it's sad to hear you have burnt out on Trek, it is what it is, have had that happen to me in the past concerning other hobbies. I hope that you are in a better family situation and mindset these days, stay strong, stay safe, and if you decide to contribute again, we'll still be here.
