Thanks guys, but this is not my design, its Rabid's baby...all I did was draw what I saw in the shapes. I'll see what I can do for some more views. Thanks for the reconstructive surgery and fixing my baby's cleft palate!

I could see that evolving into the D'Deridex class of TNG!

Grrrrrr!
Update: Now I have modelling anxiety because I'm afraid to make any decisions for fear that my model won't match Atolm's other views and I don't want to have to redo a bunch of work!
Side view next please.

Awesome work! You caught the design elements I was hinting at (the neck/spine of the D'Daridex) with my high-school penmanship. I can finally make a counter of it based on your drawing!! Oh yeah, atolm I saw someone do a computer model of your starfleet TNG Tug on Youtube! He classed it under fanships that should have been canon (Resurrected starships)

As soon as Atolm puts up a side view or front view this ship is gonna be my next project. Since it is a successor to the Z-1 I imagine that this ship primarily operated in the lost era. I'd like to think that maybe one of these babies was present at Narendra III squaring off against the Enterprise C.

I'm going to be honest. This is nothing like I pictured this ship from the top and 3/4 view. The lower hull does not appear to dive so deeply in the original picture. I have to say that I do not really care for this development.

The port profile is awesome and as a ship I like the angles on it. It's hard for me to offer critique because a) it's still awesome b) he did it for free c) the skill on display here is leagues above my own. But I like the port view, it's the center hull on the middle view that's off. On the first picture I thought that would be a parabolic arc to the lower hull, ending in a teardrop shape toward the impulse/shuttle section. Join the two canards on the lower hull and make the center more bulky, it should retain more of the Nova influence in that section. That said I've seen the "1/2 d'daridex" ship type before, where the lower crescent wings are cut off completely. atolm 's interpretation still works better than that. I just think it needs more bulk on the center hull. I still wouldn't put this in the bin, later variants can have the dual wing pylons, and between the starship modelers here, we could sort out the shape of that secondary hull.

walrusguy Thanks! You have no idea how often I visit your web site---so it's very cool to see the z-3 up there. I'll work on a better back story so it will fit in with the rest of your ships!
Though I'll admit till atolm worked his magic it wasn't much to look at.
Not sure why I can't recreate it with the XLS Ship builder. I rechecked the design sheet and it adds up...I'm not sure why it doesn't fit, it's probably an illegal design then. I think either I broke the rules and "banked" the RPL device or something. Stinks if it was illegal this whole time but after 30 years I can't redo all the victories this ship led.
We also never messed with the extra data tables so that could be why.
Next up: A Klingon destroyer/light frigate we call "the Thrasher" class!

Next up is a post Star Trek VI upgrade of the venerable D-18. Called the D-19 somewhat predictably, but the ship class name is "thrasher". the wings sweep down like the bird of prey, the pod at the bottom doesn't rotate but it's a fixed mass modular weapons pod that can be replaced for different battle configurations. It has had the same hard points/arcs as the D-18 but all weapons were firing chart X to support the l-24 at range. i can't find my original so did a quick redraw! Enjoy! postimg.cc/Zv0fY57j
