Certainly, an order of magnitude better than the shite CBS has foisted off on us! I have not seen Discovery outside of the first part of the "pilot" (I am not paying to watch it). I have been seeing screenshots here and there of the ships. Now, while I do not mind the designs at all personally, and find them very daring (at least from what I've gathered), I do not believe that it is good for a mainstream Trek show that is not a reboot or an alternate universe or something, to be retconning the established design lineage. I mean come on guys really? But I digress. I do like the ship designs, but I feel (and this is my one bias) that CBS/Paramount dropped the ball here. I mean at least the JJverse ships looked like Trek ships. |

atolm you are just KILLING IT. Seriously you are my favorite starship designer out of all the hours I have wasted on the starship schematics database. I don't mean to make you choke on feel-good, but just when I thought star trek had nothing to offer in terms of ships, here comes another atolm design.

Oh man, that is so gorgeous, it could make me cry! To my mind, this seems to have a lot of influence from the D-11 One Wing, though with a lot of what made that class an embarrassing disaster eliminated from it. There has GOT to be a fascinating backstory to this class along with the stats for it. Thank you again, Atoml, for such a fascinating work of art! |
