Welcome feel free to ask if you have other unknown source mini's Including kitbashs No problem. That's now twice at least in this forum that someone has come to the rescue where I've used a non FASA mini for STSTCS games (you know who you are, starcruiser ). You should post a thread showing closeups of the various kitbashes you've got in your mini collection, kaisernathan1701

Yeah, storage can be a problem. I've said before I have six of the older Games Workshop cases with the eggcrate foam inserts, and various other hobby storage boxes.
Believe it or not, all my mini pics have been done on phone cameras. The first four pages were done on a 2 megapixel phone, and the last four on my current phone with a 8 megapixel camera.

I sometimes have to retake pics with the 8MP phone, cos it's odd holding the phone near the minis and having to use the touch screen.
My 2MP phone had a macro setting, but it's still hard to hold steady that close to a small subject.

I can't thank you enough for this thread, You are saving me HUNDREDS of dollars! I'm trying to establish basic scale sizes before I purchase, then I can cheat like you did. Let's hope. kryptonradio.com/2016/09/02/3d-print-ship-star-trek-online/I haven't seen anything from it since this posting. But incidentally (and I hope I haven't asked this before) how long is the FASA excelsior mini? You related it's size relative to the micromachines but I'm going to get one printed that's close to 1/3125 or 1/3900.

I think the Excelsior from Fasa is 3 or 4 inches long

It's a tough call deciding what scale to build on. Do I do 1/3900 (classic FASA) or 1/3125 (seems like more ships available)
EDIT: in 1/3900 a Galaxy is 6.35", an Excelsior 4.67", a Reliant 2.77"
From the miniatures page!

Ok, for some reason, my ship images aren't currently showing up here.
Last year, after the Photobucket fiasco with charging for third party linking, I moved my images, mainly spaceships and astronomy related, to postimages.org. All went well, and I changed on my linked images on various forums, including here, no problem.
However, this week, I noticed here I can't see the images, it's the same on those other forums. I haven't changed anything, in fact, it's been a couple of months since I've added images go the account.
Anyone else who moved there having any problems?

I tried to directly open your images with the URLs from your posts and got a DNS error. I created an account and fiddled around with it a bit. I noticed that the URLs it gave me didn't match yours. Your image URLs are postimg.org and the URLs for my images were postimg.cc. On a lark I tried to directly open your images by altering the URL to a postimg.cc URL and it worked. I didn't try to hotlink them in the forum tho. I was able to get the URLs I got as an "email" URL. It is possible that they intend those to be valid for a limited time and so they change the URLs from time to time to prevent persistent links in forums and such, but that is just speculation.
I'm not particularly impressed with postimages.org or frankly any other free image hosting services available online. For that reason I have my own webspace that I use to host my images. I used to have that for free through Comcast but they eliminated that service and I had to buy a website.

I've went back and modified the links for my statted ships pics as you suggested, Joshua. I'll do the minis thread here tomorrow if I can.
I used PostImage as it was very similar in basic function to Photobbucket. I tried to set up accounts on Flickr and Imgur, but they were driving me crazy, nothing seemed intuitive.

Ok, that's the pics in the thread updated again. Note that if anyone who has quoted me, I can't edit those images, so they won't show up. But the main pics are showing again.

Seems to have worked. Unfortunately I suspect that your image hosting site intentionally changes those URLs frequently on purpose. I don't think they want a lot of repeated bandwidth to the same images.

Thanks for pointing out the change from 'org' to 'cc' anyway.

Thanks! I refer to this thread often for my fleet building.
How are you fitting non-standard/micro machine ships to the flight-bases?

Thanks! I refer to this thread often for my fleet building. How are you fitting non-standard/micro machine ships to the flight-bases? That depends on different minis. For the ADB minis from Star Fleet Battles, some of them have that specific stand that came with the early plastic Federation minis, where the peg going into the mini has a flat front face to the circular peg, which has a corresponding shaped hole in the mini, so there is only one way for the stand to go into the hole. Others have just circular holes though. I find that the original stands and holes are better for the Federation minis in particular, as they are so top heavy. If I have to use the clear or black hex stands we can't find at present, I use blue tac (poster putty in the US?) to keep the mini on the stand. The Silent Death minis, being so finely cast, have very exact holes, so you can use those clear or black hex stands without gluing them, and so the minis are easier to store. I have a few minis that are glued to metal hex stands permanently. One such example is my Orion Marauder mini (the Aerotech TR-10 Transit mini on page 3 of this thread), but that works because the mini is so narrow, and easy to store in egg crate style foam.

I should have also said, if using Micromachines in our FASA STSTCS games, to get them to fit on our 1 inch hexes, we used the clear or black hex stands, and used a blob of blue tack to hold the mini on to it, they're light enough for that to work.
