How is everyone doing? I hope you all are healthy and that your families are safe. I'm deployed now and it's getting goofy over here. Was on the COVID19 working group developing quarantine procedures. I wish I could share the official products but I can say Johns Hopkins is really the best source right now, they are outshining the CDC. coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html

Staying safe and socially distanced. All our family is well, I'm helping keeping my Mum safe while my brother is working. Chilled out this afternoon and watched "Robin Hood:Prince of Thieves"! Stay safe people!

In a holding pattern right now - kinda dull at the job since there's little going on. (I service computers, a lot of customers are locked down.)
Family is good except my brother but, his issues have nothing to do with Covid-19...

Keeping a two meter separation for anyone while doing this should help your peace of mind too. Stay safe.

People take it for granted but basic sanitation is important. More people would get sick if without it. But yah it's goofy over here. No one can travel.

Two cases at my factory. I know them both. They went to a funeral together. At least one doing well now. Not sure about the other - he's older, his health has never been great. All the employees at Lockheed received a letter from the Undersecretary of Defense stating that in the event of a lock down of my community, I am still to report to work. I got a special document to show to local authorities in case I'm pulled over (on my bicycle... not the first time). Then the VP told those of us with laptops to work from home as much as we cared to. So... today I am working from home (taking a break, because I started 30 min early... because I still got up at 04:00), in sweats. I feel really shitty about it. All the people who work for me had to go in because they have desktop PC's. I think I should be there as well. I do plan on going in Tomorrow and Thursday. Not only because I feel like a total JACK WAGON for staying home while they go into the "Cavern of Doom" that is our seventy-year-old factory, but because I can't get any meaningful work done on this stupid laptop.
kaisernathan1701 - THANK-YOU for battling the bugs for us. You may not hear it much, but people do appreciate Janitors... especially when they go on strike Stay safe, you chuckle heads.

You too, @ironnerd. Hearing that stay at home restrictions in the US are to be extended to the end of April. Sensible. Trump wanting things 'back to normal' in time for Easter was never going to happen. Stay safe, folks

No problem.
Remember what happened to the Golgafrinchans when they got rid of the telephone sanitizers!

We have multiple shifts now and I'm done with my part of the COVID so I can stick with command. But we have qualified leaders so it's not bad.
One of the majors from the last rotation is still stuck here and she is one of those ladies who walk around bug-eyed all day like a wet cat.
She is as crazy as you'd think, filed EO complaint on me for COVID work restrictions as if I'm trying to make the virus suck just for her.
So I'm more worried about that than the damn virus.
We lost a national guard captain back home who was mobilizing to fight the pandemic. He wasn't in my formation but it made me stick to my guns with this quarantine.
What do you call the selfish people out there roaming around spreading this, violating curfew and quarantine?
Was thinking "Covidiots" but it's not strong enough.

Quote time again:
"What you've got to remember is that these are simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new west! You know...morons."

As other have said above, appreciation to all those who are designated as key workers.
I'm worried for you guys and girls in the US with the different rollout of the stay at home orders per state. I know it's a different country, and the four countries here that comprise the UK combined isn't even the same size as the eastern seaboard, but as one, the stay at home order here enacted on the 23rd of March affected all four at the same time.
Our restaurants (as well as clubs and bars) are closed, although if the restaurants offer a over the phone order service, that is still permitted, if the restaurant wants to. Fast food drive thrus were shut shortly after the 23rd, although McDonalds here in the UK had stopped their in-restaurant service some days before that. I've read elsewhere restaurants are still open in various areas of the US.
Retail shops over here that doesn't supply food are closed. There were some restrictions on various items in supermarkets after an element of panic buying, that was happening BEFORE the stay at home order!. Cleaning products, hand washes and soap, and toilet paper, as well as meats like chicken and beef were in short supply. Tinned goods also were being hit a lot. That does seem to be settling down now, according to what I saw, after doing a weekly shop yesterday.
Also worried about those people who are serving in the various armed forces, in whatever country, after hearing about the USS Theodore Roosevelt outbreak.
This is definitely a scary time, and this is going to last some time, probably a few months at least. The UK restrictions are going to be reviewed in three week blocks currently.
Wherever you are in the world, stay safe.

It is so odd. My neighborhood is freakishly quiet. Just a few people walking on the street, very few vehicles. I only see a few airliners during the day (we are under a flight path for Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport), when I'm more accustomed to four or five an hour. Lockheed started making masks in the shop that normally sews up the insulation blankets for the interior of the C-130's. Of course we got gigged by OSHA because they don't have the right specs... while the CDC is telling us to use a piece of t-shirt. Go OSHA. Way to be on point. We were still making masks as of today.
I'm trying to get our facility to look into using Folding@home. There are several hundred PC's sitting idle because everyone is telecommuting with laptops right now. Those PC's could crunch numbers to help find a cure. We'll see hop that works out. The tech guru's keep telling me they have never heard of folding@home.
Y'all stay safe and healthy. I've got some old t-shirts to cut up if anybody needs a mask.

My wife is sewing them with inserts for micron filters. Not bad!
So no thanks your old armpit stank is probably more toxic.
