Well - education will NOT help you avoid missing the obvious...
There are plenty of well educated people in this world wandering around with blinders on.

That's hardly a rebuttal. I said "awareness" for a reason.
Why? Because before Alexander Fleming lots of highly educated people failed to notice a blank ring of bacterial inhibition around a mold spore. In other words, they were ignorant to its potential significance. Does that mean they were all stupid and uneducated?
But whatever. Proceed, ye heathens, with the cosplay girls.

Education does indeed help you avoid missing the obvious. That's why we educate medical Doctors in medicine, and cosmologists in Physics. Because they do much better than the layman in the very vast majority of cases. I'd also ask what proof there is that "before Alexander Fleming lots of highly educated people failed to notice a blank ring of bacterial inhibition around a mold spore". Given that it was due to NOT putting a sample back where it belonged, this seems like a made-up speculation. It's normal for the ignorant to feel a lack and make up for it by claiming they know more than specialists in a particular field. Look at some of the signatures in this thread for proof. Did an ignorant Joe Blow discover penicillin's antibiotic effects? Did an ignorant Joe Blow discover that microwaves can heat food? Did an ignorant Joe Blow discover safety glass?
Did anyone consider that maybe the comic was nothing more than just a joke?

Thank-you for that insightful responses, Gorn . Although no one commented on your absence, I know that it was noticed by most, if not all, members of the forum. And now for something completely different. Are you going to be this argumentative again, or is there a chance you could tone it down a little? Some of the other kids in this playground are here to have fun, not argue about huge piles of nothing. Although, for some, goading Gorn into a completely pointless argument is actually amusement enough (I'm not in that camp). Perhaps the title of the thread is not a strong enough hint, but this is "And now for something different", not "And now for more of the same."

Yes indeedy - though I suspect she'd be cuter without the scales!

What do you mean? Those scales would look great on the floor next to my bed!

Very shapely. Made me laugh though, imagine if under that mask she's just as ugly or worse... .
"Honey could you put the mask back on for a few...cool."

Does it have to be Star Trek?
I love this old movie. Back when Leslie Nielsen was a serious actor (mostly).

One of my favorite (or is that favourite) movies of all time!
Still stands up quite well, even after some 62 years...

Rainbow Dash is cool, but I have always been a Pinkie Pie fan. She's so optimistic.
By the way... if you search "Pony Cosplay" without Safe Search turned on ... you may be tempted to gouge out your own eyes.

You're threshold for eye gouging must be pretty low. I did an unsafe search for pony cosplay and didn't find anything gouge worthy. This amused me though.

Yes... a "Bronie"... and we wonder why the aliens never visit... I guess I could post something eye-gouge worthy, but that would be remarkably stupid since this:
Just FYI, this forum used to have a thread devoted to posting pictures of girls. There were no rules and naked pictures were posted. Proboards, apparently, does not allow that in their terms of use and Brad was issued a warning. We walked it back to SFW rules, everything had to be covered and we did abide by those rules and still they told us to stop. After that Brad removed the thread completely and we haven't had a thread for posting pics of women since. I'll leave this post because it is related, but this thread is not going to be any sort of "post girls here" thread. So, I'll keep it Safe For Work:

I don't know anything about pics that seem to look like something they aren't.
